I remember like yesterday spending the night at my grandmother’s in the country. I loved sleeping with the windows open feeling the cool breeze and hearing the crickets too! Then, in the morning I’d wake hearing the rooster crowing. Special times 🥰

Ms Brenda I've got to tell you this sweet story I heard someone tell while I was at the grocery store. O.k.  There was this elderly man in the grocery store looking for where the donuts were ...he wanted to buy 2 donuts. So as the story goes....when he and his bride got married 62 years ago they spent there honeymoon at a little motor lodge. After they checked in and got to their room it was dark and they were hungry so he lit out to find something for their dinner. He drove for several miles and all the little resturants were closed but he did find a gas station open and was able to buy 2 donuts and 2 cups of coffee. So from their wedding night for so many years on each anniversary night he would go out and buy 2 donuts and they would eat their donuts and coffee together.  This is such a beautiful story of a couple that loved and cherished each other so much that they saw the importance in having  donuts and coffee on every anniversary night.

I love hearing your beautiful cozy stories.  I also love the sound of crickets at night… although I’ve never had them in my bedroom lol

44 years ago we lived up north and a january thaw day brought out a black cricket. that night the thaw ended and was to be very cold. so we brought the cricket in our house, put it in a terrarium and kept wet lettuce and corn meal in his terrarium for sustenance. it sang our 2 kids to sleep every night. we released it come spring, telling it goodbye and we loved it. 😊😘 goodnight miss brenda.
