Welcome to week 12 of The Housley Farm series! 🍇
It's harvest season in Napa, and we took the kids up to the vineyard at night for the very first time. Rattlesnakes, coyotes, mystery noises in the dark, and Adam explaining exactly why we harvest our grapes at night. 🌙
We have about 6 acres of Cabernet on the property, and this episode is a little crash course in how it all works. How we know the grapes are ready, why we pick by hand, what "brix" actually means, and why you'll never find wine grapes like these at the grocery store. Aden and Ariah had some guesses. 😅
We also found out some of our vines may have a disease, which means one more decision to make while we're building a house. There's always something on a working farm!
And I had an idea I can't stop thinking about: grape juice in our tasting room, for anyone who doesn't drink and for the kids. 🧃
