Journey to The West, an allegorical tale of the long and winding road to enlightenment, a tale of cosmic proportions with mighty gods and demons waging battle across the Silk Road, a tale where laxatives made of magic dragon piss cures a king of his anxiety-based illness.
A true classic.

they reach india in chapter 87 and the whole story is 100 chapters long (chapter 100 is an epilogue though). red has been skipping a lot of repetitive episodes though.
also fun fact the journey is said to take 14 years but the book only includes enough content for nine years of stuff so presumably they couldve added even more filler

And so, a year has passed.

Well the book has 100 chapters... this is part 12... and is roughly the middle of the story.  So... likely at least another 12 videos.

I was prepared for the first story thanks to Black Myth Wukong (the villain is called Yellowbrow in there, and boy is his brow yellow.)

Nothing could have prepared me for magic horse piss.

now we wait ten thousand years for part 13. also according to google journey to the west has around 100 chapters so maybe just five or six more years till its done

JttW has exactly 100 chapters, and as of this video, Red has brought us to the end of 71. So I’d say we have about 3 or 4 more videos depending on how much Red wants to cover.

In the book, it was said that the dragon was supposed to die.
The book explained this, the dragon king in question was from a river, who asked someone that can predict the future to predict when will it rain, and how much will it rain. The river dragon bet that the human would be wrong, and if the human was wrong, then he will destroy the human's business as a seer.
The human he asked told him the prediction, after the dragon got back to his river, he received a heavenly decree to provide rain, at the exact time the human predicted and the exact amount of rain the human predicted. Troubled that he wouldn't be able to win the bet with the human, the river dragon came up with the idea that if he were to provide the rain later than scheduled, provide less rain than the decree said, with the duration of the rain shortened, he would win the bet.
The bet was won, but when the river dragon went to the seer, the seer told the dragon that because he didn't obey the heavenly decree, he would be sentenced to death by the Tang emperor's chancellor. The river dragon asked the Tang emperor to save him, since he would be killed by the chancellor, but as it turned out, the emperor was unable to save the river dragon because the chancellor killed the river dragon in a dream.
It was only after this that the Tang emperor fell ill, and was given a letter from the chancellor, the chancellor addressed this letter to his friend, who had passed away and had a job in the underworld, the friend then added 20 years to the Tang emperor's life.
