A lovely tribute to a mercurial talent. Those first 2 PIL albums are 2 of the finest ever made. Poptones is pure genius & as mentioned, Theme is totally groundbreaking. RIP Keith Levene.

Thanks for the walk and the spontaneous memories. Lovely.

this is good.

That was a nice listen. Thanks for uploading. You can tell Wobble really loved Keith

You guys are legends, wasn’t aware about the drumming…

Some of Wobbles best bass lines was with  " The Damage Manual " with the amazing Geordie walker.

From the moment I heard Carrearing and Poptones you could tell there was something special going on. Relationships like this are never a picnic but you can tell that Keith had a profound effect on Jahs life and carrear. People are lucky if they meet the right people to bring out their creativity in ways they never expected. Heartfelt and honest tribute.

Miss by chats with Keith. Wob's a good guy and his tribute to Keith is as genuine as you'd expect. You're right about A Very British Coup, and a nice hurrah for Keith, Mark Stewart and Andrew Weatherall.

John! 48 years on, brilliant to hear that i wasn't dissimilar, in my thoughts on you lot, when i was 18- on what you thought o Pil! Sadly, nothing ever really came close, after

Jah you’re an influence to my bass playing and a colorful character..Much Respect for your words you & Keith threw down..Legendary🍻🍻

The buildings look like fretboards

Thanks for that.  I read the Wobble autobiography and was saddened at the impression given in that.  Then delighted when I realised you were playing stuff together.  This was a wonderfully heartfelt piece that captured the journey of someone who was as innovative as anyone in the last few decades..

Very moving tribute, Jah Wobble. Keith was highly creative but very underated. Hopefully, one day a good author will publish a good perspective or even a definitive biography of one of punk and post punk's iconic guitarists.
Keith RIP🙏🏽⚘️

Honest. Love the guy.

The bit about drumming reminded me of guitarist Paul Rudolph working with Brian Eno. At one session Eno had Phil Collins playing drums, but he was playing too much and too well. Eno ended up giving the drum part to Rudolph and that is what ended up on the album.

So interesting to find this belatedly.  As a long-time bass player and fan of Wobble's style, it sort of blows my mind that Wobble barely knew how to tune his bass, didn't yet have a developed or natural ear for tone or pitch, and wasn't good at the count when he was with PiL.  It's also interesting that Wobble described Lydon's lyrics for Poptones as being like prose, because to me, the lyrics have always felt or sounded like a treatment for a cinematic film, and that's what treatments are: prose.  //F addiction.

This tribute from JW is great for anyone who feels they want to get involved or make music for themselves without all the nonsense around it that scares so many people off. It's about finding your people - soulmates if you like - in music, and John & Keith found that magic. As a fan/admirer I miss Keith so much now he's gone, because like many of us I feel so strongly how much he still had to offer. 4 years gone already eh. RiP. "Not much of a tribute" says John. On the contrary, I wish you'd have carried on for an hour or more.

"Purity of intent" sums up Metal Box

Talking about Lydon one time Keith said: “John did his best work when he wasn’t surrounded by yes-men. Me an Wobble, we weren’t yes-men.”

So Keith is the drummer on Poptones? Also the bass line is Sun King by the Beatles.
