Tried this on my own on a pair of little boys’ suit pants. Was on my way but this video helped tremendously on completing the project. Needed to watch a few times and pause as I went along but pants look very good. Thank you!

Englishman here. Slim chap, 30w, 32-33 leg, so nearly all trousers that are long enough are too big at the waist. I've stitched the fabric in at the side pocket to bring the waist in before. It creates a small pleat at the pocket which is mostly unseen, but have been looking for a better fit at the seat.

Nice video to follow.  I sometimes stitch in the ditch down the center under the belt loop location to tack the waistband back down.  It's invisible with matching thread and even if it isn't perfect stitching or thread, the belt loop will hide it after it is reattached.  I also attach 1 end of the belt loop by hand from underneath so the stitches are hidden and matching the other loops.

Wow thanks so much! Honestly I had to watch this 3 times on the first pair of pants I did and still didnt' feel like I understood it but now I've done a few of them and it's worked well!
So glad to know how to do this as I bought several very nice pairs of pants just over a year ago in a sale as they were larger than what most people would buy (one convenient part of being bigger is it's often unsold stock and then gets discounted) unfortunately for the pants but fortunately for me, I've lost a lot of weight s ince then and 4" around my hips so none of them fit, but they do now! I really can't express how glad I am for this tutorial because it's saved me passing on or donating many very nice pants I didn't want to lose

The belt loop, don't be lazy lol. Hand sew the top loop back in place.

No, the back of the pants is all crooked. The belt line is now V-shaped. There are wrinkles on your cheeks. The bottom seam of the belt loop should be seamed under the belt piece of fabric, and the top seam of belt loop should be seamed from the inside.

You were doing really good till the last belt loop...I would've put it back where it was..and hand sewn it which would've only taken 2 min tops..other than that you did good...thxs for sharing
