In a massive diplomatic twist, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that a concrete proposal was sent to the US via Qatar to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The catch? The nuclear programme is completely off the table. This has created a major headache for Donald Trump, especially after the US president admitted he wasn't sure if Iran will give up anytime soon.

Adding to the chaos, the Iranian military has just published a 25-page open letter directly to the American public, urging voters to reject Trump's war policies ahead of the elections. What happens next to global oil and the blockade?

In this episode, veteran journalist and Janta Ka Reporter founder Rifat Jawaid examines the impact of these developments.
