When Neil passed the US army did this song as a tribute.  Heartbreaking.

"Summer's going fast, nights growing colder; Children growing up, old friends growing older"
I first heard this song and these words in college, long before I had kids, but they hit me hard.
I think is my favorite Rush song, and these words frequently come to mind, even now as my kids have grown up and moved out.

Reminds me of another Rush lyric...."we're only immortal for a limited time"

Neil once said, "playing a three-hour Rush show is like running a marathon while solving equations".

The vocalist was Aimee Mann, from a popular group called Till Tuesday.

Some of the best lyrics every put to music.  Neil's time on Earth was a gift.

Hold Your Fire is one of Rush's unfairly underrated albums.

This is truly one of my favorite RUSH songs.

She performed this song with Rush this year on their tour launch with Anika Miles, another absolute monster musician

Rush is really blowing up, finally they get the recognition they really deserved for so long.

I'm Gen X so maybe I'm just getting sillier with age but, for some reason, the part where he sings about "nights growing colder" and "old friends growing older" hits me hard.  It just makes me think about how there are some times in your life that will never come again (pretty much the whole point of the song!)  🥺😭❤️‍🩹

Im in the Autumn of my life. this song drags tears to my eyes as I think of my friends who have passed, those that are gone from my life, my kids, my folks, there is so much good in this life but we hardly recognize it when its happening. Time stand still indeed.

There is an absolutely stunning cover/tribute of this song to Neil after he passed by the US Army band u can find easily. Well worth a listen

Aimee Mann of Til Tuesday is phenomenal in her own right. As has been noted, the song Voices Carry is very powerful. I recommend the live version from New York. Heartbreakingly beautiful.

Aimee joined Rush on stage this week to perform this song at the first two shows of their reunion tour. It was the first time she sang the song live with the band. It was a bit emotional to see 72 year old Geddy and 65 year old Aimee performing together - and they still sounded phenomenal!

This is one of those songs that makes you reflect

This was the song my wife and I used for our first dance at our wedding in 2024. So perfect.

Neil Peart was a genius who brought the highest intellect and philosophy to the understanding of anyone who cared to listen.

Aimee Mann made a massive surprise appearance to perform "Time Stand Still" at the opening night of Rush's "Fifty Something" tour at the Kia Forum on June 7th. It marked what is believed to be the first time she has performed the track live with the band.

This music and "The Garden" are Rush songs which the older you get, the more the lyrics hits you.

I heard this song and listened to it on repeat when I was coming home from my uncle's funeral, and it was the only thing that gave me any comfort.
