Exploring Scarborough Renaissance Faire in Waxahachie Tx #renaissancefaire

Dress Me Up Scotty

31,062 views

Come along with us as we finally get to experience a Texas Ren Faire! Though we had to cancel our trip last month to Sherwood, I think we beyond made up for it! ... besides getting heat exhaustion on the first day (yes I hydrated and drank electrolytes, I'm just SUPER sensitive and have been since I was a kid - ask me how many times I passed out at recess)

To the people who got hung up on the Texas joke(s) … I apologize, I’m realizing not everyone watching has seen the Texas episode of SpongeBob and the joke might have not landed.
As for the “only visiting for faire” comment - some have pointed out not all of Texas has the climate of an air fryer on high - it’s a big place. Noted. Probably should have left it at the SpongeBob clip or explained I can’t do southern heat + humidity due to health. Florida and I also don’t get along for the same reason. She made me so sick I almost spent my DisneyWorld trip in 2017 in bed. And one day of faire almost took me out too. Mind you, that was spring weather.

I feel you on the heat exhaustion holy cow. I just moved back to Texas after living in Vegas for 13 years. In Vegas, would go to the ren faire EVERY year, all day for several days in a row with no issue. I also took the bus to work and would be out in 115+ plus heat every single day and be fine. When I went to Scarborough this year we had to leave after only 4 hours because I almost fainted from the heat. I had to sit in the first aid area with the EMTs and they were very hesitant to let me leave. I spent the next three days barely able to get out of bed. It was only 82 friggin degrees, windy, and even rained a bit the day we went. People love to mock the whole "It's a DRYYYY HEEEAAAAT" thing but OH MY GOD IT'S NOT A JOKE. THE HUMIDITY WILL KILL YOU IF YOU ARE NOT USED TO IT. ;o;

Despite the heat, it looks like the two of you had a great time.
And how lucky are you to have such a sweet, handsome man who likes these fairs as much as you do 🤗
You two are a cute, loving couple.
Greetings from the Netherlands

Oh my gosh, I’ve been waiting for this video. I was in line with you and your husband to meet the Fortress Dwellers after their performance and recognized you and panicked before I could say hello 😅. I hope you had a great time at Scarborough!

Gasp you saw the Fortress Dwellers live! I too follow them here in my faerie box. What a wonderful faire, always love the content especially seeing you and your hubby out in the wild having a great time like this! Thank you so much for allowing us to live vicariously through you ( because that heat would end me! )

Looks like a cool faire. Flick the fan open by flicking down using gravity to help. You were going the opposite direction. And purple is my favorite color too.
