The Buzzards Were Not Happy - Capturing Rare Buzzard Behaviour | Parents Chase Off Their Young

In this video, I’m photographing buzzards in the UK, capturing an intense and rarely seen moment of buzzard behaviour, as the parent birds drive away their young. After a couple of early visits, the young buzzard was chased off by its parents — and I genuinely thought that would be the end of the session.
I was just about to pack up when a sudden rain shower kept me in the hide. And just as the rain stopped, I couldn’t believe what happened next. The young buzzard reappeared in the trees in front of me and came in for one final visit, giving me an unforgettable wildlife photography moment.
This is a real example of patience in wildlife photography, understanding birds of prey behaviour, and why staying in the field — even when conditions change — can sometimes reward you with something truly special.
If you enjoy buzzard photography, UK wildlife, and honest, immersive moments from behind the lens, I hope you enjoy this one.
🦅 Buzzard Behaviour | UK Birds of Prey | Wildlife Photography
Buzzards are one of the UK’s most common birds of prey, yet moments like this — where parents actively force their young to leave — are rarely witnessed, let alone photographed. This behaviour marks a critical stage in a young buzzard’s journey towards independence.

Moments like this aren’t just rewards for the hard work — they’re signs that the wildlife feels safe enough to stay, hunt, and raise their young here.
For me, that’s what it’s all about.
Providing a safe space for wildlife will always come before getting the shot. 🦅🌿
