There's a certain charm in exploring the mountains relying on old memories. When I was 24, I was deeply moved by the majestic sight of Iwaibine at the rocky observation deck on Otamayama. 37 years later, at 61, I faced it again. Back then, the Olympus OM-10, a reasonably priced SLR camera, had just come out, and I frantically pressed the shutter button. Now I use a Sigma DP2X. It's an even cheaper camera, but times have changed, and the image quality is far superior. This one shot, taken with all my might, is a good result despite the unfavorable conditions. Doesn't it capture the feeling of the season? Now, I want to push my way through the bushes and find the oasis (water source) between the rocky observation deck and the Akahana Ridge junction. Everything is going according to plan up to this point, but perhaps my old memories or guide are wrong. Or maybe it's just the passage of time. I can't find what I'm looking for. Perhaps my search wasn't thorough enough. My legs just won't cooperate to escape to Kuwazumidaira, and if I don't descend by noon tomorrow, there's a chance of a thunderstorm. Will I be able to break free from this malfunctioning gear? This is the final installment of the must-see videos related to Iwaibineyama. Please take a look.
