Every Saturday of the 1960s, from the time I was about eight, I sat on a step stool in the corner of my mother's kitchen in Birmingham and watched the women of our street come in plain and walk out lovely. Then I spent thirty-one years selling it in Detroit, and I learned that most of what those women knew never made it onto a shelf.
In this video:
✓ The cold splash last
✓ Wash the puff, every single week
✓ Grease the skin while it is still wet
✓ and this is the lipstick I told you about
✓ Oil in a cup, warmed in hot water
✓ Press the water out
✓ The end papers
✓ A pillow that does not drink your hair
Tell me in the comments how they came out. My sisters are going to call on Sunday and tell me I forgot something our mother did, so tell me which one your mother did that I left off.
