My headcanon is that Lolo and Lala's games took place in Kirby's world BEFORE he landed on Pop Star. Having built a strong relationship with Dedede's kingdom, hence why they frequently appear to fight Kirby in Dedede's name.

Kirby’s Blowout Blast is just “let’s do a remake of Kirby’s Dream Land and not tell Whispy” seeing as Lololo was the first boss

So here's a funny little bit of trivia concerning the Lolo series.
As a lot of us probably already know, in many of the older Kirby games, Kirby was given an angry face for the box art in North America when he was generally just a happy little pink puffball in other regions.
Lolo was the reverse.
For whatever reason, Lolo is usually given a more cute design in north america where as the japanese box art tends to have him scowling. They even added a mouth to his design just so he could frown harder.  Look it up, it's actually really funny.

Is that someone who acknowledges HAL Laboratory as the company behind Kirby? Finally, after so many videos of people sweeping HAL under the rug, this is SUCH a breath of fresh air.

That aside, it's very interesting to see how Lolo and Lala have become side characters of a successor franchise. I guess you could call them HAL's Donkey Kong. HAL needs to revive this franchise.

I love the narrative you spin here, instead of just being a boring list-off of every appearance, you make LoLa’s rivalry with the big pink actually compelling

i figured Lololo and Lalala were Lolo and Lala’s descendants.

Oh, when he said he’ll get to Kracko soon, he meant SOON soon…

Aw man, imagine if Lololo and Lalala were in star allies as dream friends. Wouldnt that be cool?

It’s nice to see Lololo and Lalala treated nicely.  Also, did they change their names? Or is Lolo and Lala their parents?

They're technically the only crossover characters in Kirby Air Riders next to Sandbag

8:40 GOATED REFERENCE.

It's crazy how much history this game series has. Lololo and Lalala turning from cute reference, to mainstay badguy, to occasionally being frenemies like Dedede...

Another fun example; that blimp boss from Kirby one? It has a name, it's Kabula, and it held a grudge, it came back with a vengeance harder and harder from this point on. Most returning bosses might be a little different but rarely are completely retooled, Kabula kept getting ANGRIER.

What an entertaining and informative video about a pair of classic characters! Thanks Silvery! Thanks 1986 bitcrushed announcer!

A little bit of a fun fact concerning both Lolo & Lala and Lololo & Lalala actually: the box arts for the Eggerland/Adventures Of Lolo games always depicted Lolo & Lala as having visible mouths, something their Kirby counterparts completely lack. Heck, this detail hasn't been forgotten or anything either - remember when HAL Laboratory made that 40th Anniversary illustration featuring so much of the company's history? Kirby was there, BOXBOY! was there, Part-Time UFO was there, and yes, even Eggerland was there by way of Lolo & Lala making an appearance... with the visible mouths!
I personally see this as evidence that Lolo & Lala and Lololo & Lalala are actually entirely separate characters, the latter duo only really being inspired by the former, but your mileage may vary on this one. Heck, it's because of this that I even straight up view Lolo & Lala as ancestors to Lololo & Lalala, so in my eyes, the Eggerland series did happen within the Kirby universe, just with the wrong blue 'n pink orb duo. And as for why Lololo & Lalala completely lack visible mouths? The world may never know...
(Hmm, part of me wonders if, should this actually be canonized in a future game, that this was the reason why King Dedede entrusted the duo with one of the Sparkling Stars back in the first game/Spring Breeze? Perhaps the then self-proclaimed king knew of their heritage and figured they'd be able to guard the Sparkling Star well, only to be proven wrong when the duo are immediately humiliated by the hands of Crash Kirby. Pfft.)

Anyways, dumb little tangents aside, nicely done on the video! While it's nice that Eggerland's legacy isn't completely forgotten and lives on through Lololo & Lalala (and Blocky, too!), I'd say HAL made the right call in switching to having Kirby be the closest thing they have to an official mascot, as he's way more versatile compared to Lolo & Lala. Although I can't help but feel that, with how close this was released with the last analysis on Whispy Woods, you may be building up to something...

So Hal's first series was cemented in Kirby's iconic gallery indefinitely. I wonder if they could use the egg making ability of Lolo and Lala in future boss fights, it'd be silly but an interesting change up on their moveset.

And on August 27th 2026, they'll finally be stronger than Kirby thanks to the Ramped-up Riders Event!

Lololo, Lalala, and Adeline are the canonical names of Lolo, Lala, and Ado is what I've decided.  Also Knuckle Joe is a specific Waddle Dee and The Poppy Brothers are 2 guys, one the big brother and the other the little brother.

2:18 Nothing could've prepared me for how that sounded.

I cant believe that Lololo and Lalala used to have their own franchise before becoming side characters in the Kirby franchise. At least they make some notable appearances in certain games, especially in Air Riders where they are part of the playable roster.
