Cruise Mode isn't just smooth sailing. The Free Lanes update also introduces Interdictions — forced encounters that yank you out of travel and won't let you leave until you deal with them.

In this video I break down every type of encounter you'll run into while flying between planets, exactly how Interdictions work, who triggers them, and how to get your ship ready so you're never caught off guard mid-flight.

They did a good job overhauling the space travel. I really like the game now. Hoping they keep adding more improvements.

Having auto turrets as part of your weapon systems is nice for when you get stopped while away from the pilot seat as well.

I've encountered a few of these where there was no apparent reason for stopping. I've sat there and scanned everything around me, finding nothing and re-engaging Cruise none the wiser.
FYI, if you throw skill points in the right places, your ship will self repair.

I’ve only had it happen once. I dropped out of cruise in a mine field with enemy ships around. It was pretty darn cool

5:00 : maybe I am wrong, but it seems that the ship does auto repair the various sysrems, the only thing that do not auto repair is the hull, but you can use ship parts to repair it without going to the ship technician.

Hope I can remember to quicksave before entering cruise.

The worst interdiction encounter I had was an alert drop out of cruise and hitting a mine and destroyed instantly 🤣
Happened twice…

Slight dilemma, you'll get more than less the same repeated encounters in each system, even less in the smaller ones, also, they don't refresh a system once its complete, 😣

Buy the Watchtower DLC so that you can build a fleet up to nine ships once you've built a fleet customized those ships make them overpowered and nothing in the game really hurts you ever

Excellent

I actually got my first action figure (Sarah Morgan-yuck) from the wreckage of a defeated interdiction! Love the new content from Bethesda! 👍

Interesting to hear these interdictions actually exist. I've played a lot of freelanes and terror amanda and never run into one. I think im missing other features too haha

I play in 1st person,is there any way to tweek the controls so i can look around when flying? Like in Elite! Would be useful in dogfights!

Having Watchtower with Freelanes , makes it crazy to fly along without something happening so I had to turn off watchtower. Any advice is appreciated so I can have both installed

I love the terran armada dlc👌🏻

It stuns me that they threw in this new 'free-lanes' mechanic, fraught with bugs and other insane crap, and somehow they haven't fixed the SIMPLE PROBLEMS THEY ALREADY HAVE. Maybe make sure the base game works the way it's supposed to before you start *adding new ways for it to break*.

Been playing this for three days now and not a single interdiction whilst in cruise mode......

@MaxCarnage1984 4 months ago

What UI mod are you using?

@andrewhull7296 4 months ago

How did tou get that ship? I like it

@Bigdaddyslasher 4 months ago

Hell last night I had some ship destroy my ship multiple times and crashed my game 4 times. Then just stopped for no reason. It was tagged as an anomaly not a ship.
