This is excellent. I've ridden on the ferries many times, and i thought you were very thorough. My first trip was in 1985 from Prince Rupert. My ticket was to go to Skagway and back, then fly home from there. As it turns out, I met my husband just out of PR, and I only made it to Wrangell. We were married less than 3 months later. After 37 years of adventures together he died in 2022. This summer, I'm flying to Sitka and taking the ferry down to Ketchikan to visit my daughter. I'll probably cry sometimes, but I'm really looking forward to it! I love riding the ferry. Thank you for this video.

This is the BEST description of the ferry to Skagway. Though not video, the minutiae of where the ferry goes, how to transit and life on board are outstanding! Highly recommend...

One revision I will make is on August 1, 2025 we loaded onto the MV Columbia with our 26 ft RV.  We too were traveling from Bellingham to Skagway.  We had hoped to get on early in order to enjoy the boarding process.  We arrived at the assigned loading lane at 2:40 pm and did not get loaded until 5:55 pm.  We only had time to get one load of belongings to our deck 6 cabin before the car deck was closed.  Your vid was helpful as we watched this before our trip.  Thanks

Thank you for the comparisons  between ferry vs cruise. Glitzy vs earthy. The ability to stay off of the ferry for a few days is appealing. Sounds like you could do it with out your car.

The stops at places without docks are simply transporting supplies and even packages for those disconnected towns.
