Gotta admit I preferred it much more back in the 70's and 80's just before it grew out of its small town feel. We could walk the length of Clarks Creek and fish for trout or float the creek and river in inner tubes on lazy summer afternoons. We even had a skinny dipping hole in the creek. I remember when Van Leirop bulb farm would send Johnny Carson daffodils for the Tonight Show tv set every spring and he could never pronounce Puyallup but could pronounce their name though when thanking them live on the air. All those flower fields and most of our farmland and berry fields are all gone now replaced by tilt up warehouses or apartments and more parking lots, and houses all along the creek now etc. Definitely a city now that wants to be even bigger, the next Bellevue, God forbid.
Back when I was a student in high school they promised to keep the small town feel...they pretty much dropped the ball on that I'd say...just like Bellevue. But the city council members change over the years and what you see now compared to then all reflects on that. You can't stop progress. But anyone can shit on the City Hall porch and run though. 😆
(deeply apologetic for the shits & giggles...maybe. what do you think? 😜)
P.S. I'm making this comment in 2026 and this video was made in 2021. In that amount of time you have no idea how many businesses have changed in such a short amount of time. Of course we can thank Covid and Dr Fauci for a lot of that though.
