I think black holes are definitely holographic, projecting the 2D data on its surface as a 3D image (well, the dimensions are debateble, as there are probably at least 11). So our universe could be a hologram of a spherical "block-universe" in a black hole, fed from the white hole-big bang. Time doesn't really exist and it's just an illusion from our point of view. Practically, the black/white hole connection is like a spacetime tunnel to us.
