Horror is often about undeserved twist and turns, but every so often we get a well deserved bit of an ending and that can be extremely satisfying...

I really enjoyed this story. I worked for a year with a mean old man . I worked 2 notes and 3 days. Felt like I was in prison. I was so glad to quit, after he raised a fist to me. It was a huge burden I wasn't cut out for.

I’m listening to this in November 2024. I’ve loved all the stories you’ve read. I really enjoy the classics and I’ve also enjoyed the newer stories you’ve picked. I would love to hear ghost/horror stories from all over the world. I’ve heard more new to my ears stories here than any other horror podcast or YouTube channel. Love this channel!

Holy crap! This is one of the first times I’ve actually been kind of freaked out by a story. This was giving me such claustrophobia at the end. My skin was crawling from just imaging being in that position.

Having to leave another comment as I think this is the best story I've heard from your collection so far. I really was guessing until the last paragraph, I'm usually way ahead. I loved this so much, so well crafted. The reality of not knowing how to deal with nasty men with power over you when you are young is so well portrayed. Your narration is the best I've heard on you tube. The best bit is usually the analysis but this time it was all of it! Many many thabks

Oh Tony please carry on doing the more modern stuff as well. I really like such a wide variety of literature and much as I love old English ghost stories there are quite a few people doing them. I just want to enjoy your interpretations of a broad variety of stories. I don’t usually go for audiobooks but love hearing you read!
Totally loved this story and will definitely be investigating Cathy’s work - in fact will check her out on Amazon now.

I loved this story, very clean clear prose, but mostly I loved it because the behaviour all rings true, you can tell it's inspired by real feelings and experiences as a nurse. It also has a very cinematic feel to the structure and character relationships and twisting moments. It'd make a great movie.
