I failed to mention the clutch and gearbox. Ooops! These can be an issue if mistreated. Tail tail signs include a whining sound when driving off in 1st-2nd gear. If the noise gets better when you depress the clutch, then it's likely it needs a new clutch.

As someone who has owned both a 1.2 and a Twinair, I'd say don't discount the Twinair!

As long as it's been serviced at the correct intervals using the correct oils etc you have nothing to fear!

The 875cc 2 cylinder Twinair actually produces way more power and torque than the 1.2
It will be cheaper to service, more economical to run.

The quirky nature of the Twinair is a more authentic match to what the 500 is all about and it's heritage, the original concept was always based on a small low capacity cheap to run engine and the noise it makes always puts a smile on my face! 😊

I love this Alex, I’m like yep I’ve had 3 door handles replaced, I’ve got broken vents inside 🙈😂

Mine has lost a few exhaust clamps and suffers with losing gearbox oil, I’m needing another gearbox again 😭

A good video - I’m checking out any 500 which might be satisfactory for my granddaughter who has just turned 17.  No mention of corroded rear spring hangers seem like the main omission that I know of.

I think that you ARE an expert when it comes to the Fiat 500.  I find your videos hugely helpful and have been a source of comfort and reassurance as I see you battle with some of the issues I face with my 500 Lounge.  I have the dreaded hatch wiring loom issue, and also the water sloshing in the scuttle area, which you've now shown how to check and resolve.

Clutch and Slave Cylinder was definitely worth a mention.

Great video, but I think you forgot the most comon problem there is.... the passenger airbag bump in the dashboard. Almost every Fiat 500 had it, and fix it it´s not easy at all.

Everything is well told. Tell us also in detail about engines 1,2 and 1,4. Thank you.

Thank you for your knowledge and information, much appreciated. I have purchased  500 lounge year 16. Excellent condition condition low mileage. My second fiet 500. I really like them, not a problem. 😀👍

I had one from new for 14 years,  door handle was off 2-3 times.   Definitely a weakness of them.  Traded it in for a new Volvo XC40, didn't get a lot. Looks like they are stripping it for parts.   Shame really,  few dents but my mechanic said it was in brilliant condition inside.   People just don't want the dents on a 14 year old car given the price of putting it right.   Only 71,000 miles.   That makes me the only owner in its lifetime.

Very in depth, very helpful! 👍🏻

Thank you so much for your complete guide!! Amazing, I learnt much more!!

Great video!

I just bought a 2017 fiat 500 lounge.  Thanks for the video, it has helped me a lot.

Thanks for this video.  For what it's worth if you do a We Buy Any Car quote and choose the option to specify more details about the car (e.g. Cat N/S, only 1 key, etc) then the quote comes back as basically half of what the same car would be clean.  You definitely shouldn't expect to get £4k for a Cat N/S car that is otherwise worth £5k.  I'd expect to get at least 1/3 less.

Mirrors: I’ve come across a car where the input for adjusting the mirrors did not work, shall we say, instantly.  2 or 3 seconds for either mirror to start moving in any direction might be a bit of a pain to some

Very much useful informations. Great video.

Amazing video!
Appreciated!

Very good review informative
