Biogeography in 2025? YES!!

The cactus forest is fever dream material

25:42 now that's a quote the Galapagos islands should use on their merchandise

25:42 😂😂 I see what you did there

Thank you for adjusting sound it sounds great now!

WAIT YOU WENT TO THE GALAPAGOS????
One of the places I wanted to go so much, it really is such an amazing place for evolution and i love the biogeography series

As much as I love these topics. I can not stop thinking how remarkably well-made these videos are. The editing is top quality; the music selection, the colors, the themes, the resolution. Man, what an accomplishment, as a fellow scientist, my dearest admiration.

It's like a tiny earth simulation. Volcanic base, lichen creep, fern becoming trees, only It's cactus instead of fern

Surprised you didn't talked about the Galapagos Penguin, the most northen Penguin species but hey this video was still pretty good :)

I like the slower pacing, with the longer shots of nature and the animals. Its really chill to learn this way, thank you :)

I am so glad you respect the animals enough, that you rather not be able to see these birds, but know they are "safe", than to want to see them as close as possible.

"Take nothing but pictures and leave nothing than footprints and don't touch foreign plants/animals." Love your stuff :)

Those islands are so often mentioned but never stop to amaze me. If only more islands and places would have been preserved like this one.

I went on a tour of the Natural History Museum once, they took us to the basement archives. In a cupboard in the basement where a selection of animal samples. You could tell who studied biology based on the reactions of everyone there to the tour guides statement: "These are some of the original samples from the Beagle"

Bro went on location!! LETS GOO!!!! This is amazing!!!

Welcome back to Earth.

The one thing this video lacked was a map where you mapped out where you actually did go, at least which islands.

Great video! Your clear speech is great for those who don't speak English very well. There are channels that I have difficulty understanding, it never happens here. Thanks!

Why no mention of Galapagos penguins!? Those are the only tropical and most northern-living penguins in the world.

5:50 as a meterologist, I'd like to point out a mistake here. The areas around the equator are not more arid. Due to surface air convergence from trade winds, you often have low pressure systems, which leads to more rain and storms. This is known as the ITCZ - inter-tropical convergence zone. The wettest jungles on earth are found along the equator - the Amazon, the Congo, Indonesia - while dry deserts are found above and below it, such as the American Southwest or Australia.

The Galapagos are dry due to the Humboldt Current, which is a more regional thing that is an exception to the usually wet equatorial region.

From the some of the archive material, i recognise a lot off the illustrations from school showing us those documenraries or myself tapining them on early animal planet. I really enjoy coming to yor channel for the same level of focused interest.
