The climbing skill is very worth it as the potions and stuff you get from being able to reach the locations will make up for the points spent.

Use the animal parts to craft transformation scrolls and sell them this way - that is true purpose of the hunting skills IMO

Lockpicking gets much easier if you spend 10 LP to get the first level. Without the skills you have to do like 30 moves to pick a lock. With the skill it drops down to around 15 moves.

Getting this skill does really make a big difference.

1. Pickpocketing and looting the knocked out npcs have different "pockets". Pickpocketing gives you ore, 10-20 or more ore with one npc. But these don't appear if you knock them down.
2. You can lean Pickpocketing and Lockpicking also from Wedge in the New camp.

There is also a fun technique I discovered using acrobatics. Anytime your up high and need to go down a long ways (like top of mine to bottom) and would die from the fall just smoke some weed then attempt to dodge roll. When your high enough you will instead ragdoll, since there is no damage from falling when ragdolled you can use this to leap from any height and get to bottom fast. It also kinda works for water, when ragdolled your model sinks to the bottom (don't worry cannot drown in this state) allowing you to get a good look around but when you move out of ragdoll your shot up to the surface of the water,

When you get the Climbing Skill make a little swimming to the left past the Ship is a Cave with a Longbow and if you walk a little bit up the Cave you can dive into a Pool and get the Longsword (str30 dmg 40)
No Enemies to fight no Lockpicking needed to get those Items
If you steal the +5 Ring from Lee Chest and get the free +5 from NPC you only need to train 10pts for the Sword

Playing gothic remake has been a blast, I can see how influential the original game was, drova and outward hss elements of it and many more games that I've played. I hope they remake the second game as well I hear it's the best one in the series.

Pickpocket is so worth it. I have tested between knocking people out and pickpocketing I seem to get more items from picking the pocket than knocking them out even more so for ore/lockpicks/keys and so on. I got rich off pickpocketing. Had 900+ ore going between the 3 camps just from that.

Hunting skill loot is required for certain crafting recipes in spell scroll scribing.

My biggest problem has been finding enough merchants with enough ore to buy all my stuff after having all the hunting skills.

He is actually playing the game, but he does make mistakes in an effort to get his tips videos out first, I still find them mostly useful. The learning point mistake was probably just a mispoke.

Alchemy is a must, cause there are recepies for permanent stat boosts.
Also there are (at least there were) some hidden stat boosts from raw ingredients.
Eating some 50 apples or berries in a row provided smth like +1 stat.
Have no recallection on details - it's been 20 years, but check this up.

Magic esp Fire is very effective for me and I was able to kill so many enemies and creatures by firebolt from level 5 (for example in old mine)

You can get the best armour in the game early in chapter 2 if you pickpocket Gomez for his key to his unpickable chest, Stone will even improve it for you for free. You need to be a master pickpocket though, but the armor is worth it, it makes you almost invincible.

If you need to dive a long distance u can always transform into a water monster.
Also you must learn alchemy and scrolls when you want to become a mage
