A lot of you watching this video probably grew up believing that by the 2000s, our cities would be filled with flying cars. Take the 1985 movie Back to the Future, for instance, which predicted that flying cars would be a reality by 2015. Even though 10 years have passed since that prediction, there are no hoverboards or flying cars in sight... Why? Has the pace of technological progress slowed down since those movies were made, or is there something else going on? For example... could the reason we still don't have flying cars be that the whole "flying car" concept is just total nonsense? Let's take a look.

Şimdi, videoda en çok eleştirilen noktalardan biri şu: "Uçan arabalar tamam da, caddelerin yerine nasıl bir çözüm getirilecek? Trafik nasıl düzenlenecek?" Buna hiçbir çözüm sunulmadığı söyleniyor ama aslında ortada mantıklı bazı fikirler var.
Öncelikle, herkesin kafasına göre uçacağı bir sistem zaten olmaz. Onun yerine hava taksi ağı gibi kontrollü bir sistem olabilir. Tıpkı otobüs ya da metro hatları gibi, önceden belirlenmiş iniş-kalkış noktaları olan uçan taksiler çalışabilir. Şimdiden Uber Elevate, Joby Aviation, Volocopter gibi şirketler bu işi planlıyor bile. Herkesin istediği yerden kalkış yapması yerine, belirli duraklar olacak.
Peki, gökyüzünde düzensizlik nasıl önlenir? Şehir üzerindeki hava sahası belirli katmanlara ayrılabilir. Tıpkı uçakların hava yolları olduğu gibi, şehir içi hava koridorları oluşturulabilir. Mesela 30-100 metre arası sadece uçan taksilere, 100-200 metre arası acil durum araçlarına ayrılabilir. Böylece herkes istediği yerde uçmaz, belirlenen rotalar üzerinden gider.
Bir de iniş-kalkış meselesi var. Skyport dediğimiz özel platformlar devreye girebilir. Binaların üst katlarına uçan araba otoparkları yapılabilir. Hatta iki katlı otoparklar bile olabilir. Üst kat doluysa, alttaki bölme açılır ve oraya iniş yapılır. Veya asansörlü sistemler ile uçan arabalar iniş yaptıktan sonra alt kata indirilebilir. Kısacası, otopark mantığı yukarı taşınabilir.
Sonuç olarak, “caddeler yerine nasıl bir çözüm gelecek?” sorusu aslında cevapsız değil. Kontrollü hava taksi ağları, belirli hava koridorları, binaların üst katlarına taşınan otopark sistemleri gibi çözümler var. Bugün için altyapı eksik ama “asla olmaz” demek çok erken. Eğer gerçekten ihtiyaç duyulursa, bu sistemler zamanla geliştirilebilir. Bir mühendis olarak çok daha detaylı yazabilirim ancak bu yazdıklarım dahi böyle bir itiraz videosu için daha çok araştırma yapılması gerektiğini göstermeye yeterli.
