I think you said it best "Brands trying to be people and people trying to be brands" that sums up the internet PERFECTLY. I can't stand when instagram ads try to pretend to be homemade meme videos or vlogs or podcasts... you're an ad and you're not fooling anyone.

Nah it’s always delightful for me as a Media Studies undergrad to hear people who went the more Comp Sci/Tech route talk about these cultural implications and impacts and issues. It’s why I like hearing Jarvis Johnson and Jordan Adika talk about tech and culture too. I feel like you have some interesting insights while also arriving at some of the theoretical foresight that humanities and arts scholars have been discussing for a while. Even if it feels disjointed and weird the way you’re discussing it, it’s good to hear someone thinking deeply and making very valid connections about the present world so no need for the apologies for me!
