the horror violins as he walked out as just… a regular guy is WILD

The fat-shaming in 2000s shows will never cease to amaze me. An entire generation's self-esteem ruined 😍

Her saying he "flopped on out" was absolutely insane. Literally even the way you enter a room changes in others perspective just cause you're  overweight. Like damn.

"Next on My Small, Short GOBLIN Fiancé , Kelsey will have to marry the weirdest little freak of a man she's ever seen, AND convince her family that he's not having fun"

"Thats your openly racist fiancé, enjoyy" KILLS ME 😭😭

I worked crew on this gem of a show I thought I'd paint some color here on a few things. I think it's really important to know this was created by the same team that did the Joe Schmo Show (which if you haven't seen you should add it to your list, fantastic early reality TV). Their whole concept is real people in crazy situations with actors.  Randy is 100% real. She was in the dark the whole time until the end of the show. It was actually pretty awesome to watch in real time.

I know you're just joking about the house thing but.... the house that every reality show is shot in is in Silverlake. This was a mansion we rented in Thousand Oaks that was owned by Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. The house you're referring to had another production going on at that time.

Steve is an awesome, hilarious, super nice, and talented comedian. You've probably seen him in lots of commercials and other bit TV parts since this. He's 100% shooting for reactions here.

The other big twist on this show is in this episode Randy thinks she's only playing for $500k. That's because she thinks that Steve is also playing for $500k. What she doesn't know if that she gets through with the whole things she actually wins all of the money. Hope you watch the rest of it. It gets wild!

The stark difference between the bad acting and the beginning and her demeanor by the end makes me think this was real. Plus reality shows from back then were known to just mentally torture people.

Imagine winning the cash and then it turns out the marriage is real and then having to spend it all on the divorce

yoooo the Steve dude actually went on to have a recurring role over many seasons of greys anatomy!!! as a universally loved character! he was the bartender at the bar all the surgeons hangout with and they all donate to save his life at one point!

Regular ass man with the horror backing music is wild

Cody apologizing for the Canadian "sorry" with a valley girl "sorry" is killing me

Steve wasn't bad at all until he was "drinking" and wanted to be in the hot tub. I can see that actually being a bit of a scary situation for Randy as well, since 1) she doesn't know Steve whatsoever and 2) she doesn't know he's just acting. She's totally right to be frightened in that spot.

The craziest thing is them reacting like they just saw him murder someone before coming out,,, when he’s just….chubby?

I don’t think it’s fake. The look of disappointment on her face when he came out and the way she changed from being like “idk what’s going on I’m so excited” to “this guy comes waddling out” with a straight face was too real.

Steve is honestly an incredible actor. He was so perfectly doing the absolute least appropriate thing he could do in any situation at all times. Like his character flip-flopped between being shy and awkward to obnoxious and bombastic depending on what would make the moment the most uncomfortable.

Every time I watch old media I understand why my parents have eating disorders a little more

the slasher music when he comes out is INSANE

this started as a commentary about prejudice and then low key turned into a woman being sexual harassed for 1,000,000 dollars

She was my first grade teacher!! Too many parents complained about her being on this show so she sadly got fired but I think about her all the time and I hope she’s doing well
