The hottest temperature ever recorded on Earth is 134°F, set in1913. A paper published this year says that number is wrong.

But that's just the start. Almost everything you think you know about
which US states are hot is backwards. The highest heat index ever
recorded in America wasn't in Arizona it was in Wisconsin, caused by
corn. Florida's all-time record high is a New England number, yet it's
still the hottest state in the country. And Phoenix has a burn center
that treats people injured by the sidewalk.

10 states to avoid, 3 that are actually cool, and the reason the
"feels like" number on your weather app is based on an imaginary man
invented in 1979.
