I HAVE to win this race.
After somehow finding myself 5th in the @elitekartingseries championship, Round 2 at Whilton Mill should have been a chance to fight for more points....
There was just one problem: I’d never driven Whilton Mill before, I was stuck in Split 2 because of a terrible result at Rowrah last year… and then the heavens opened.
What followed was three chaotic races in some of the worst conditions I’ve ever raced in, a costly mistake, a kart that was apparently one of the worst Tom Shipman had ever driven, and one absolutely mental final race.
Can I finally get the win I desperately need?
This is Round 2 of my EKS Championship 2026 campaign — racing against some of the fastest heavyweight rental kart drivers in the UK.

Didn’t realize you’d pulled the donkey of the fleet for race 3, how that ended up in the fleet I will never know
The first race where they all spun out was like Christmas!
Second race, I think you tend to get red mist when you spin and it breaks your rythem. Not mentioning Tamworth…
To be fair 8th position in your first year of the EKS is pretty good going, you should be proud of that.
Senna helmet guy is Richard Danby. (Former Cosworth Engineer, Autograss buggy racer and reigning Milton Keynes Thursday night Sodi Heavyweight champion) In the first race I believe there was a cock-up since Richard was supposed to start I think 4th or 5th on the grid but for some reason Dave Sumner was put onto the split 2 grid (When he is very clearly a split 1 driver) so that put everything out of whack, so Richard was scrambled into I believe a spare kart and was put into the middle of the second row in a desperate attempt to not delay the start any longer. Dave essentially got promoted along with Ash Chivers into Split 1 to try and correct the mistake.
In race 3 after you passed Richard he had to pit due to mechanical trouble; I believe they switched his kart and then the second kart broke down right in front of you. I believe EKS tries to reinstate anyone who has their kart fail on them as a general rule; Kart Silverstone are especially good at releasing drivers back on track where they would have been.
Guy in the blue helmet who gets spun out in front of you and then passed you later on is McKenzie Senior. The driver fighting you at the end is Michael Bowles.
