From day one, the music business was designed to screw artists out of money.

I loved the Rollers as a teenager. It’s heartbreaking how badly those young men were treated.

The industry is utterly wicked.

The music industry is literally evil.

Poor lads 😞

The greatest tragedy in the history of pop music. They sold over 120 million record's, and yet the band lived as paupers. Then there's, their manager...

It never fails that the law protects the abusers and the thieves. Evil.

I worked in a popular bar in Edinburgh 1975/76 and Alan Longmuir came in most Sunday evenings and just stood quietly at the end of the bar, bothering no one. I look back and wonder how unhappy he probably was.

Les was so talented and he was used and abused terribly. His legacy is untouchable though, such a wonderful man.

To quote ACDC, we learn to sing, we learn to play. Why can't the business men ever learn to pay.

Mary Wilson of the Supremes wrote She never saw a tax return.  She never knew exactly how much money she made or how many records were sold.  Ask Judy Garland, it's a story older than Hollywood.

I remember my two best friends and I dancing together when Saturday Night came on the radio.  What fun!  We were 6th graders.  Now we are over 60.

They should’ve sued Payton’s estate to reclaim their earnings. So sad.

Paton was one evil piece of Shit even seeing the photo of him in your video gives me the creeps

As an American the song Saturday Night is the one that's iconic.  I wore out that album.  Sad that so many people who should've been looking out for them instead were so cruel.  Nasty business.

Rather than "Dazed and Confused" it was "Drugged and Abused""

I met the band when I worked for a radio station in South Africa in 1979/80. And one evening, the staff and the band had a small get together. Alan Longmuir was definitely there, as I chatted to him the most. He was very nice, polite, and kept apologising to me for the crass behaviour of some of his band mates. He told me he lived in an area that was fairly rural/farm land, as he preferred to be away from cities by that stage. I didn't stay too long that night, as I could see some things were getting out of control. So Alan walked me to the door, still apologising. He was the nicest out of all of them.

Saturday Night was the ultimate roller rink song

I remember my sister was a huge fan of the Bay City Rollers back in the mid 70's! of course we had no idea what they were going through at that time!! Just Sad!!

The infamous manager tried to lure my friends round . Used drug dealers to get boys

15, and standing in a very long line with my little sister, who at the time was very obsessed with BCR, since morning in front of, or close to Tower Records in San Francisco, we had been waiting for their scheduled appearance for them to sign autographs. When they finally did arrive, they sat on a stage and the line began to move in front of them, everyone asking the boys/men to sign whatever memento they had brought, but I had nothing, I came to escort my little sister, I was a rocker, a stoner, and didn't care for an autograph from them, but then felt sort of foolish for not having anything for them to autograph, and I didn't want to offend them, and my little sister wasn't about to give up her album for anything. Thus, having nothing for them to sign, I casually undid my button top and asked Les to sign my chest, he happily obliged, and I appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle the very next morning. My little sister was pissed. Soon thereafter, girls all over the world were asking band members to sign their chests, it became a fad. My mom had also lied to the school so that I could take my 13-yr old sister on a bus to the city, 60 miles away. The next morning when I went to school, the article was posted on the bulletin board in the school office, and my home room teacher was reading a copy of the Chronicle when I walked into class.  "Sick, huh? Let me see it", she said. lol! I was a local celebrity for a few days. Memories. 😉 circa1975
