Despite the tactical advantage enjoyed by Pakistan army at OP Hill located near Mendhar/Poonch the Indian army captured the Hill which was of utmost strategic importance as it overlooked the entire Mendhar valley. The Indian army although suffered heavy casualties and had to resort to hand to hand fight but the Infantry did not give up and captured the Post in ONE NIGHT.
