I would like to thank the author for the honest review. Encouraged by it, I bought this amplifier. It arrived packed in a solid box filled with polystyrene. I had to pay extra customs duty, about 10% of the value (PLN 85 in Poland). The silver casing makes a good impression. Fortunately, the horrible "Krell" inscription has disappeared from the front panel. Currently, it is "BRZHIFI". On the first day, I was terrified by the power of the bass and the powerful kick drum. After 12 hours, the sound returned to normal. I hope that it will only get better with each day. The casing radiators are warm, not hot. I use Wiim Ultra as a preamplifier and source, my speakers are KEF Q-750.

I have amps that cost 20 times what these cost but prefer these amps for medium level listening. I run two in a vertical biamp mode with a pair of mid fi Magnat Signature 507's with Two Elura TRI-SUBR10 Red Label Triple 10" 500-Watt Powered Subwoofer...Can't tell you how pleased I am with the performance of this budget set up. This is sending me down the Chi-fi wormhole for sure.

Also...not being a 1:1 clone is actually a plus...the original A1 integrated amp had a great design but was built with the very cheapest of parts and insufficient heat sinking. I think the original designer was miffed when he saw how much MF downgraded the parts quality when the amp was commercially released.
