Sarah Michelle Gellar cameo in I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Breakdown, Analysis, Theories & Spoiler Review — Coy Jandreau & Roxy Striar sit down to react to the highly anticipated legacy sequel in Sony’s iconic horror franchise. Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) and co-written with Sam Lansky, the film brings back Jennifer Love Hewitt (Julie James – I Know What You Did Last Summer, Heartbreakers) and Freddie Prinze Jr. (Ray Bronson – She’s All That, Scooby-Doo) while introducing a new generation of characters haunted by a chilling hit-and-run mystery. Producer Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious, The Boys) ensures this continuation ties back to the 1997 original and 1998’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. We break down the callbacks, the modern horror tone, and even nods to Julie’s legendary scream “What are you waiting for?!” as well as tease at the rumored post-credit setup for the future of the franchise. From Southport, North Carolina to Hollywood’s legacy of slashers, this sequel connects to the great horror revival of 2025 while honoring its roots. Along the way we compare it to the wave of horror films like Scream (1996–2023), Scary Movie, Longlegs, Get Out, and Nope. Join us as we cover every scare, twist, and Easter egg from this return to one of horror’s most iconic stories.
