As a teacher/therapist, there have been times where parents forget to send in a snack or a lunch, and me and the other teachers will give them something from our own food to tide them over. It’s not the child’s fault, and it’s also not the choice of the child whether they get food sent in or not. Giving a young kid the choice of bringing a snack to school is a bit backwards. They may have just eaten breakfast and aren’t hungry at the moment, but then will get hungry later on. Just send your kid with a snack, even if they say they’re not hungry, send it as a backup plan. It’s so silly to get mad at the teacher for generously giving their own food to the child. It’s not the child’s fault either, it’s on the guardian to ensure their child is fed and prepared for school. Genuinely it feels like the grandma is embarrassed and deflecting the embarrassment onto the teacher.

This grandma sounds like her daughter is trying to be low contact or something. Trying to be the parent but grandma keeps trying to overstep.

A grandmother who doesn’t give their grandkids a multitude of snacks is a new one for me. I thought it was something all grandmas do!

Religious Psychosis is not taken as seriously as it should be

My moms a teacher. These parents are genuinely like this. Not just the grandparents. Ive wanted to genuinely fistfight her students parents.

That grandma looks like a pearl clutcher the way she’s holder her robe and herself 🤣

Former teacher: This could have been an email (at most). Furthermore, so many parents have this belief that teachers are in the position because they want to torment children. That is far from the case. Personally, I was an impoverished child who had a hard time getting through school and was starving a lot of the time. I wanted to do something about it. I made sure I had snacks and candy, I gave students my lunches, I bought them chips. I didn’t do it because I thought the kids were in my exact situation (that’s a report), I did it because it’s shitty not to feel cared about, or to be hungry! Teachers like their kids! They want them to do well! I didn’t judge them, I just fed them and gave them stickers and told them they were good, because they are! This insane culture shift that demonizes/infantilizes educators and acts like disrupting student’s education is the same thing as protecting them is INSANE!

22:17 im nonbinary and dont view beautiful as gendered. Im Agender, specifically. Most nonbinary ppl do not care abt the term beautiful. She made that up.

So, when I was younger, like elementary age, the school put me in a program for kid of families with money problems. Part of that was sending me home with basic necessities if teachers noticed I was lacking anything. At one point, they sent me home with shower supplies. They sent some really nice soaps and some washcloths and such. I was actually really excited about it because my mum would only buy baby soap because she thought it was better than other soaps, but because we lived in a hoarding house, it was never strong enough to clean the smell or grime off me. When I got home and excitedly showed my mum, she was pissed at me. She said I was making her look bad, that the teachers thought she wasn't bathing me, and that I needed to bathe more often so it didn't happen again. She ended up telling the school to pull me from the program. I lost access to extra tutoring, free food, and I felt like it was my fault that I didn't get nice things anymore. The truth was, we were poor. I often went without food at home, I stank because of our living conditions and was bullied relentlessly, and I had diagnosed learning disabilities that my parents wouldnt address to get me the support I needed. I went through school malnourished, bullied, and I struggled every year with my grades. And the only thing that mattered to my parents the entire time was that I made them look like bad parents. To them, they were "doing their best to provide for a difficult child", and to me, it was my fault I suffered because I just wasn't trying hard enough.

I almost think her and her daughter are estranged.  Like the daughter cut her off. The way she talks makes it sound like her daughter wants no/little contact.

Also the teacher saying she’s not gonna give him food anymore and that he needs to bring his own, kind of shows that she knew his family was doing just fine and could afford food. If she thought his family couldn’t I’m sure she would start buying snacks for him

21:10  What's ironic about this is, the video prior to this one is of her daughter calling her to explicitly tell her not to bring her children fast food or snacks, because they already have plenty of food at their house. What does this woman do? She tramples all over the daughter's boundaries, who has obviously told her to stop multiple times. You can infer from the grandma's video, that this isn't the first time this has happened. Does bringing her grandchildren snacks mean she's calling her daughter poor and saying she doesn't have money? Because that's exactly how she took it when the teacher gave her grandchild snacks.....

What's even more ironic... she physically and verbally (her words) wanted to steamroll over the teacher for setting a boundary with her grandchild. The teacher telling her grandchild to bring a snack, because the teacher can't afford to keep giving them snacks everyday, was her boundary. Just like the mom telling the grandma to not buy food for her kids is a hard boundary. So by that logic, does the mom and the teacher now get to physically and verbally get to "defend" themselves against her... since she is blatantly disregarding their set boundaries? That's what she is instructing everyone else to do.... I guess the rules don't apply to her, since she made them up. This is just wild. 🙄

The last time that lady bought a refrigerator it probably was $299...

your biscuit story reminded me of my high school chem teacher. i had horrible mental health one year and i was quietly crying in the back of the classroom. she walked past and subtly asked if i was allergic to peanuts and when i shook my head she gave me a snickers bar😭 i still think about it at 25

The crazy part is that the kid probably did tell the grandma it that way. Its the adults job to pull out the logic of a conversation.

Yeah this is really irritating whats annoying me is when she said her grandson “chose” not to bring a snack… your job if your looking after said child is to tell the kid to take food in or make your kid take food in, in school i had free food given at breakfast because sometimes we didn’t have money for that or even lunch at schools sometimes so thats fair but if you have money which she said she had money then you should send him to school with snacks even if he said he “doesn’t want too” because he clearly does if he was needing food from other people from school, really just childish to take it to the internet instead of trying to fix the problem by giving your grandson food

Im so glad we can agree that no nonbinary person said that shit😭😭

32:50 she's basically making up a story about how she's more informed than everyone while claiming it's cause she's a girls girl but she's then talking down to another woman who called the outfit a romper so 🤷‍♀️

12:30 that's so interesting to hear about ur healthcare working experience, sorry but it's so different in the states! I'm EMTb and (whatever floor) Tech equivalent in hospital and healthcare settings...if a patient is acting up, we can absolutely argue with patients and level with them if need be. never have i worked for a place that said we had to apologize first thing when patients would complain, if anything we were told the opposite; defend your company and peers. not to sound like a villain, but there's def been a few times where I've yelled at a patient's family member because they were unjustly ripping into their nurse or other worker, for me it's like "no one's gonna cry bc of some bully" but that's just where I'm coming from. bruh even as an EMT basic some ppl have mentioned "alternative treatments" or whatever and I've straight up told them that it's bullshit 😄 healthcare culture is so interesting

"on yesterday/tomorrow" is a very regional southern american thing. i heard it growing up, but it's not even used as frequently in the next county over. it might even be specific to Georgia. i made the assumption that she lives here before she said it later in the video
