Helpful teaching. We don't save ourselves in the sense of earning our salvation. We are saved by faith alone, but saving faith is always accompanied by many good deeds, and as we do these deeds we continue down the road of expressing our saving faith.
Love love ❤️ this episode! Thank you for this teaching Pastor John, to apply in our lives from these scriptures…It was very clear teaching, sober reflection for us
Luke 18:23-30 "23 But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. 24 Jesus(😊1st❤), seeing that he had become sad, said, " How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom(😊❤) of God(😊100%❤)! 25 For it is easier for a camel(😅❤) to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom(😊❤) of God(😊100%❤)." 26 Those who heard it said, " Then who can be saved? " 27 But he said, " What is impossible with man is possible(😊❤) with God( God😊100%❤ Our Father in heaven😊❤)." 28 And Peter(😊❤) said, " See, we have left our homes and followed you( Jesus😊1st❤)." 29 And he(Jesus😊1st❤) said to them, " Truly😊❤ , I say to you(😊❤'s), there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake(😊❤) of the kingdom(😊❤) of God(😊100%❤), 30 who will not receive many(😊❤'s) times(😊❤'s) more(😊❤'s) in this(😊❤) time(😊❤) , and in the age(😊❤) to come(😊❤) eternal(😊❤) life(😊❤)." "( Luke 18:23-30 ESV Study Bible)
Within Luke 18:29-30 for "...there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake(😊❤) of the kingdom(😊❤) of God(😊100%❤), "( From Luke 18:29b ESV Study Bible). Jesus(😊1st❤) is not encouraging his disciples(😊❤'s) to abandon familial responsibilities( from Ephesian 4:25😊❤; Ephesians 6:4😊❤ or Ephesian 6:1-4( Children😊❤'s and Parents(😊❤'s)) in Christ or Ephesians 5:22-33( Wives and husbands) in Christ) However "...sometimes family members turns against a believer, or there may be time of temporary separation due to Christian ministry. Only Luke(😊❤) mentions " wife" .... ( see Matthew 19:10-12) so " Whatever someone has to sacrifice "... for the sake of the kingdom(😊❤)"( from Luke 18:29b ESV Study Bible) will be repaid(😊❤) many times more(😊❤) by God( God😊100%❤ our Father in heaven😊❤)." About " for the sake of the kingdom (😊❤) of God(😊100%❤)" from Luke 18:29b ) and "for😊❤ my name( Jesus😊1st❤)'s sake😊❤"( from Matthew 19:29😊❤) . " In this(😊❤) time(😊❤) ( from Luke 18: 30b ) please checked out Matthew 10:29-30(😊❤). "...And in the age to come eternal life(😊❤)." from Luke 18:30b ESV Study Bible) this show the scene ends where it began, with the question of eternal (😊❤) life(😊❤)( from Luke 18:18 "18 And a ruler asked him( Jesus😊1st❤), "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"( from Luke 18:18 ESV Study Bible) and Jesus(😊1st❤) final answer(😊❤) from Luke 18:30 "30 who will not receive many(😊❤'s) times(😊❤'s) more(😊❤'s) in this(😊❤) time(😊❤) , and in the age(😊❤) to come(😊❤) eternal(😊❤) life(😊❤)." "( Luke 18:30 ESV Study Bible) and again ideas from ESV Study Bible in Christ😊❤. In following😊❤ and trusting 😊❤in Jesus😊1st❤ what did you also experience not only within your homes or family members too and again Jesus(😊1st❤) is not encouraging to his disciples(😊❤'s) to abandon familial responsibilities(😊❤'s) ( Ephesians 5:25😊❤; Ephesians 6:4😊❤) but focus more on Luke 18:29-30😊❤ in Christ Jesus(😊1st❤) in Christ(😊1st❤) too.
Leviticus 2:6-10 of Leviticus 2:1-16(Laws for Grain offerings)
Leviticus 2:6-10 "6 You shall break it in pieces and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering. 7 And if your offering is a grain offering cooked in a pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil. 8 And you shall the grain offering that is made of these things to the LORD(😊❤), and when it is presented to the priest, he shall bring it to the altar. 9 And the priest shall take from the grain offering its memorial portion and burn this on the altar, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the LORD(😊❤). 10 But the rest of the grain offering shall be for Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the LORD(😊❤)'s food offerings."( Leviticus 2:6-10 ESV Study Bible)
In Leviticus 2:4-10, there were three types of breads are mentioned within these Scriptures. First type are bread "...baked in the oven( from Leviticus 2:4a or within the verse of Leviticus 2:4 "4" When you bring a grain offering
baked in the oven(😊❤)
as an offering, it shall be unleavened loaves of fine flour mixed with oil or unleavened water smeared with oil."( Leviticus 2:4 ESV Study Bible)
And the second type of breads are those " ... baked on a graddle..."( ffrom Leviticus 2:5 ESV Study Bible middle of the verse )
Like the Bible said in Leviticus 2:5 "5 And if your offering is a grain offering
baked on a griddle(😊❤),
it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mixed with oil. "( Leviticus 2:5 ESV Study Bible) and then the third types of breads are those " ...cooked in a pan..."( from Leviticus 2:7 middle of the verse in Leviticus 2:7 "7 And if your offering is a grain offering
cooked in a pan(😊❤) ,
it shall be made of fine flour with oil. "( Leviticus 2:7 ESV Study Bible)
Since the grain offering(😊❤) was holy(😊❤), the remaining part was to go to the Holy(😊❤) Priests(😊❤'s)( from Leviticus 2:10 ). Now openning of Leviticus 2:10 "10 But the rest of the grain offering shall be for Aaron(😊❤) and his sons(😊❤'s) ; it is a most holy part of the LORD(😊❤)'s food offerings."( Leviticus 2:10 ESV Study Bible) and ideas come from ESV Study Bible in Christ😊❤.
The word "bread " lead to what Jesus(😊1st❤) said in Matthew 4:4 " 4 Jesus (😊1st❤) replied, " It is written(😊❤): ' Man does not live on bread alone, but(😊❤) on every(😊❤) word(😊❤) that comes from the mouth(😊❤) of God( God😊100%❤ our Father in heaven😊❤ ).' " ( Matthew 4:4 Zondervan NIV Study Bible)
Just in case if you miss this verse, we can go to Luke 4:4😊❤ "4 Jesus(😊1st❤) answered, " It is written(😊❤): ' Man does not live on bread alone.' " "( Luke 4:4 Zondervan NIV Study Bible)
Speaking of the word " priest " it also remind me of us(😊❤'s) in 1 Peter 2:9 "9 But you( you😊❤'s or we😊❤'s today too) are chosen(😊❤) people(😊❤'s) , a royal(😊❤) priesthood(😊❤), a holy(😊❤) nation(😊❤), a people(😊❤'s) belonging (😊❤) to God( God😊100%❤ our Father in heaven😊❤), that you( you😊❤'s or we😊❤'s in Christ Jesus(😊1st❤)) may(😊❤) declare(😊❤) the praises(😊❤'s) of him( God😊100%❤) who called(😊❤) out(😊❤) of darkness into(😊❤) his wonderful(😊❤) light(😊❤)."( 1 Peter 2:9 Zondervan NIV Study Bible) Since i am also called by God(😊100%❤) and called by Jesus(😊1st❤) too or called by God(😊1st❤) or Jesus(😊1st❤ Isaiah 9:6😊❤; John 1:1-2😊❤; John 10:30😊❤ ) and through Genesis 12:1-3😊❤ and Matthew 28:19😊❤-20😊❤ so we(😊❤'s) also what 1 Peter 2:9😊❤ said from the Bible to you and to me too in Christ. Does someone called by Jesus(😊1st❤ from Matthew 28:19-20😊❤) also need to offering to another person 😊❤ also called by Jesus(😊1st❤)? When we offer, i prefer to offer to God(😊100%❤) of the Bible. Remember there many gods out there but i narrow it down to God(😊100%❤)of the Bible who told us(😊❤'s)to in Jesus(😊1st❤ John 14:6😊❤). The word(😊❤) of God(😊100%❤) or God's word😊❤ is more than bread. How do we( i) know? Matthew 4:4😊❤; Luke 4:4😊❤ in Christ Jesus(😊1st❤) in Christ within those Scripture also what Jesus😊1st❤ said(😊❤) too in Christ(😊1st❤).
Leviticus 2:4-5 of Leviticus 2:1-16(Laws for Grain offerings)
Leviticus 2:4-5 "4 " When you bring a grain offering baked in the oven as an offering, it shall be unleavened loaves of fine flour mixed with oil or unleavened water smeared with oil. 5 And if your offering is a grain offering baked on a griddle, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mixed with oil. "( Leviticus 2:4-5 ESV Study Bible of Leviticus 2:4-5 (Laws of grain offerins) And John 14:6 (😊❤) " 6 Jesus(😊1st❤) answered, " I am the way(Jesus😊1st❤) and the truth (Jesus😊1st❤) and the life( Jesus😊1st❤).
No one
comes
to the Father( God😊100%❤ , our Father in heaven 😊❤ )
except
through me."( John 14:6😊❤ Zondervan NIV Study Bible.Amen.). Amen.
