I found out in life of 60 years that common sense is very uncommon.

I just finished watching this and I must say you did an excellent documentary and I thank you! I had never heard of this place until now. It's so sad that so many suffered and died due to the lack of knowledge back then. I too will be watching that movie tomorrow as it's late.

In the early 1990’s I did interior demolition on building #25 it was one of the larger buildings . Today #25 is a modern hospital . My memories of the place are vivid - on the 9th floor there was a huge mural of the Long Island Sound with sailboats . I was told that was the intake area were lobotomies were performed. I will never forget the place -

You obviously did so much research and put alot of effort into this. I have actually looked for Documentaries on Pilgrim state but all the videos on it are paranormal. I really enjoyed this. It's so sad though what people went through until advances in medicine.

I've spent so much time on the grounds of both Kings Park and Pilgram state.
I fly my drones there pretty often. They are amazing complexes with such gruesome history. Many sad stories.
You did a fantastic job on this documentary. I've learned so much more about the sad history of this place.
Thank you for this great work, You've obviously done a lot of research.
Omg The lobotomy stories . Horrific!!
Thank you for this great work, fully watched and subbed 👏 👍

I can't believe I had to miss the premiere. I was all ready for it too. I did get to watch it though and you did an amazing job on this. I loved it! Tell your hubby he can give me a bridge too because I 100% believe this place would be haunted. Kinda creepy some of it is still in use 😱

There is a stigma surrounding mental illness partially because of treatment administered to misdiagnosed and misunderstood patients. I would assume the majority of this facility closed due to asbestos but mainly the discovery of outpatient services and psychiatric medications. The purpose of the tunnel mentioned here may also have been used to avoid extreme winter weather while commuting from building to building. Thank you for sharing.

Very interesting and informative. Thank you! P.S., it's weird looking at the older LIRR trains. I can't imagine them looking like that knowing how they look today. It was very cool to see though.
