What do you guys think of this new camera?

This is my second time watching this video, but the more I think about this camera the more I want Sony to make something along the lines of an "RX1C", which I would love to have the sensor from either the A7 IV or V in the same body, with a slightly different lens. I just can't believe they put the same lens on it after almost 10 years...

Great review, thank you! I bought a pair of these cameras for 3D photography. Even though I also have a pair of A7CR cameras, the RX1 is a lot lighter and easier to carry. Just this feature, make it worth it to me.

I also want expensive things/toys.. A Ferrari, a $10M condo and a SI swimsuit model, etc.    I'm not a trendy rich hipster, but I am content living in in a tenement apartment taking pictures of my cat with a x100VI.

The price of the camera is what it is and for a lot of people it’s unacceptable although for the number of expensive cars I see on the road there are people out there with money! When you factored in the 10 year change in inflation, you also need to include the fact that the Yen has depreciated significantly against the dollar over those 10 years too  so for a Japanese company selling in the US, it requires charging more dollars to get the same profit in Yen. I know people will call out the comparison to the a 7C series of cameras. I don’t think they are at all comparable. When you factor in a lens on the a 7C series, it’s a much bulkier camera. The engineering that goes into such a small compact camera and the manufacturing process attention to detail is significant. For example the back of the lens sits so close to the sensor that both are mounted on one assembly, which is then individually calibrated for each camera at the factory to maintain the tight tolerance. And This is why they can’t put IBIS on this camera. Thanks for the review.

So a manufacture costs stay static, the sale price to wholesaler approximately static, what is increasing? Margins are increasing by 33.5% a 10 year.

When people complain its price tag, why nobody appreciate the best autofocus in such a tiny camera body of RX1R III? If people can pay $7k for a Leica Q3 with sluggish and unreliable autofocus, why they can't appreciate a $5k Sony RX1R III with the best autofocus among all the fixed-lens compact cameras?

Down to zero and just pay in food. They believe staff invested by time. Although working for food is being paid £0.05p a day and no requirement to pay more. Aside that paying tax when functional company MAKES MONEY. The tax system isn’t even complicated. They just think if they intentionally lose money they won’t pay tax; but paying tax is legal requirement and makes money. So management are in malpractice and malfeasance and are literally intentionally shutting companies down. Which is exactly what they doing. Because a Dane Hollender bank pretends they own the whole world. 4 real. It’s a mass money laundering scam. And no one will speak because they F off dumb.

yes you missed a few things, first it is an all metal body just finished in a mat finis, second you tariff calculation by sony is off the camera is sold in other countries, like Canada for $4,550,  the accessories are also cheaper elsewhere.
The Leica is not just $1,600 more for the Q# 28 they are also usung an "outdated" lens on all three version of the Q. For whatever reason reviewers like to point the age of the Sony as something not up to date but the old Leica lens is "legendary". Being the owner of both a RX1RII and the RX1RIII there is something different they have done to the lens motors, the AF is not just faster due to the new chip , the lens moves faster and is quieter. Granted not GM2 speed but faster. Last  points on the Q comparison the Q Af is no where as good as the Sony, weighs 40% more and is far less stealth. The same thing can be said for my FujiX100VI, while being cool looking it is also noticed far more than the RX1RII which is why I like the Sony better. The Sony AF and IQ is much better than with FujiX100VI.
I have no issue with comparing the RX1RIII with the A7CR except the misleading cost info, comparing the cost of of the A7CR with out a lens of any kind is wrong, buying any lens that even gets one close to the RX1RIII is at least $700 to $1200, add to that all A7CR at this point are pretty much tariff free until more are imported. Also the assumption is being made that the buyer does not already own a ICL camera already and the RX1RIII is an addition to the kit not the only tool.
When the RX1 came out two years before the Q everybody complained about it's price at the time, as well as the RX1RII, the funny thing about the rants most come from those that would never buy the camera anyway.
A professional may need a few different tools in there kit, when I bought my RX1RII 10 years ago it was for work, I used it to shoot background location plates for ads, it went unnoticed in places one did not want any attention  with beautifully rendered images, now that both myself and soon to be retired RX1RII, I love shooting with the RX1RIII.
Sony's biggest mistake with this camera was not coming out with some version of a RX1RIII around the same time as the Q3, other than that I am happy

On your calculation a digital camera in 2,000 more years will be like over $302,000. People live over 2000 years I have meet a 1200 year old person who completely functioned. It’s complete crime defined by fake news.

It is so frustrating that the A7C2 / A7CR still use these AWFUL LCDs and EVFs. Why? - the MUCH cheaper Fuji X-S20 for example has a fantastic LCD, it's painful to go from its LCD over to the Sony...

You and others keep using inflation to largely justify the price but forget that the price of technology also decreases over time

Cameras are definitely over 2000 years old in production. What did they do reset prices to zero; we should be on $300,000 or $600,000 for a camera by now. Just deflating our way down the path.
