Stephen Fry is a national treasure, you'll be hard pressed to find many people who dislike him.
He was half of Fry and Laurie (Hugh Laurie who plays Dr House), a comedy duo. He hosted QI for years, has made insightful documentaries on mental health (He is bipolar). Very well educated and highly respected, author, Golden Globe nominee, voice of the Harry Potter audiobooks and much more. He has a lot of TV, stage and movie credits, you may have seen him as the TV presenter in V For Vendetta or in the clips you've seen of Blackadder.

The fact this man can give a more eloquent, insightful answer (at the drop of a hat) to this complicated question than we could if given 3 hours and asked to write an essay on it is just staggering. Stephen Fry is a polymath and national treasure!

Love Stephen Fry, if he created his own political party he would be Prime Minister

If anyone has a bad reaction to Stephen Fry they have no business watching… he’s an absolute legend of the comedy game, super intelligent, and a down right nice guy!!

As the host of 'QI' Stephen Fry is exceptional. His part in Blackadder is Hilarious. His role in V for Vendetta was extremely well acted too. He's incredibly intelligent and has lived a remarkable life. He's also respected by just about everyone, even Royalty.

Fry started off in partnership with High Laurie, he hosted QI, was in Black Adder, he played Jeeves to Lauries Bertie Wooster. He also played Oscar Wilde in a film. In tv, film, and theatre, he is as others have said a national treasure.

Stephan Fry is an actor, intellectual, comedian, broadcaster, director, narrator, author (of books including Greek mythology), national treasure and overall just an insanely well educated Englishman. His IQ is beyond what normal folks average, having debated alongside oratorical giants such as Christopher Hitchens against the Catholic Church (an incredible debate I would certainly suggest you check out!!!), He is an incredible man!

He's very eloquent, very worldly and always has something interesting to say.. essentially hes a comedian and an actor and presenter, famously suffers from depression and ran away once when life got too much and he became very unwell. Luc kily he was found and returned safely, and recovered enough to return to our screens. Hes a very very clever man, and a distant cousin of mine

Nobody, literally nobody can hate this incredibly eloquent and articulate and funny man, I’m glad you found him. You’re welcome 😊

Hate and Stephen fry do not go in the same sentence,
Us brits love him.

Stephen Fry is an utter genius, deeply intellectual but not massively ego-driven. Self help books- hmmm, there's a lot of dross but there are books written by actual psychologists using well tested techniques that can help, but a hell of a lot of badly written psuedoscience and empty BS. Fry's analysis of the differences between American comedy and British comedy is so accurate (IMHO) - Brits love the underdog, they love the person who fails they also like to see pompous people get taken down. I think there is a healthy humour to be found in laughing at failure, because, if you can laugh at that, you'll not ever be without a laugh!

Fry is one of the last of the generation of truly intelectual media personalities. On the edge of being a total snob, but not. And very respected.

Stephen Fry is an institution! A Total Legend, You need more Fry in your life!

All you need to know is a photograph of Stephen Fry, holding a cup of tea in a proper porcelain teacup & saucer in one hand, leash to a bulldog in the other, in front of Buckingham Palace as the Union Flag flies above it is the single most British Photo in all existence.

If someone asked me who my number one guest I would like to be able to invite to a dinner party, Stephan Fry would be at the top of the list.

Stephen Fry is an intellect. But he plays Melchett in Blackadder. His portrayal as general Melchett is worth a watch. Especially his speckled Jim pigeon episode.

If you watch any US sitcom they’re usually wisecracking. Take The Big Bang Theory for example. You can say Howard is the funny one and the wisecracker. But if you actually watch it almost all the characters are wisecrackers. Even Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, Penny, Bernadette even Amy. They’re always coming up with quick witted jokes. And no one actually talks in real life like how they’re talking.

British comedy is more situational. Watching the characters get into tricky, embarrassing, hilarious situations and watching them trying to crawl out and fail with each attempt they make to try to get out of the situation which I think is more relatable in real life than always wisecracking.

The other thing which I think brings US comedy down is apologies. I haven’t heard anyone talk about it but I think apologies in comedy ruin it and is usually seen in US comedy. The Goldbergs is a great example of this. In almost every episode the last 3 minutes or so is everyone apologising for all the bad things they did in the episode and being forgiven by everyone. British comedies on the other hand don’t tend to have people apologising for their actions, the characters hold grudges and have almost a love hate relationship with everyone. Some characters don’t realise what they’re doing is wrong so continue doing the bad things to get out of the sticky situations they get themselves in rather than apologising for their actions and being a better person next time. I think apologising just takes all the fun out of it.

He is actually Google. He knows EVERYTHING.

Absurdly talented.

And the nicest guy, ever.

nobody hates steven fry, hes a national treasure!!!

Stephen Fry has done lots of different things, but he was the host of "Quite Interesting", a show with comedians about weird facts. I would recommend some QI compilations! There are some with Sean Lock's, Stephen Fry's and David Mitchell's funniest moments. If you didn't see them yet, they're great!
