When you're fed those lies your whole life, all that is left for you when you notice this lies - is hate.

‘He changed his shoes’… he jumped into the persona of Vincent there on the pavement
They both had the same shoes when he snatched the guitar
MrLBoyd is the only reactor to have picked up on that detail… kudos to you sir

A toxic culture creates damaged people who act from that damaged place. "I will do to my country what you've done to me" is just saying it out loud.

Richard is the name of the cop that shot Screech

You say we have a knife crime problem over here.  In reality the rate of knife crime in the US is worse!  The US is in a league of it's own when it comes to homicide and violent crime, period.  No other developed nation is even close!   The US even beats the majority of developing nations, in that respect.

Welcome to the next Edging part of the Vincent’s Tale series!

Directed, Written, Produced, and Choreographed by Ren with Cinematography by Samuel Perry-Falvey and Camera Operator work by Beau Prichard-James.

This is a nearly 8 minute song picking up right where Sunflowers left off with Ren (as Vincent; confirmed by Ren in post-drop stream) encountering Vincent on the street, ‘taking’ a guitar, and spewing a mouthful of incredible wordplay, darkness, and self-loathing. He steals a cigarette next, then mouths off a couple, then stabs the man in the couple, running away and encountering Richard (from Screech’s Tale), now several years later and back on the street.

The song in the intro bar scene that is now clearly audible (compared to Sunflowers where it was toned down in volume to tease us) is an original piece by the masculine duo of Campbell & Burr, originally recorded in 1911 and republished in 1913. It is called “Waiting Down By The Mississippi Shore” and is around the first half of the song before it cuts off at the end of this Prologue.

Again, so it is clear: Ren IS playing as Vincent while Vincent is playing himself (played by Aaron Lee Jones). The entire video, Ren plays a Storyteller and Vincent. The fight is between Vincent and the couple that he yells at as he passes. It is expected that Ren is taking the ‘Hi Ren’ concept and making it ‘physical’, in that HE plays an aspect of the original character’s mental state.

Ren has stated that this is still just an intro to the deeper parts of the series. We will get Richard’s Tale (pending Van Gogh painting title) then the remainder of Vincent’s Tale for Part 3 after. Ren has stated that he is unsure of how long Vincent’s Tale will actually be. Might stay with 3 Parts or it might go up to another dozen. Who knows?

This was filmed in Brighton, the first part is near Brighton Square along Meeting House Lane and Brighton Square South. This area is littered with dozens of jewelry stores and professional jewelers, making this quite ironic given the context of Vincent, thus far. There are two parts as there is a hidden cut somewhere about halfway through it though an observant person will see the cut pretty clearly. He said that the first half took about 10 tries and the second took about 7. After the cut in the scene involving Richard, we do not yet know where this was filmed as it is definitely a different location from what is there at Meeting House Lane and the junction of the Friends Meeting House building.

All of the people seen in the video are actors, almost all Renegades (yay!). The gentleman who has appeared in all of the recent Instagram stories by Ren concerning Richard has appeared in Self Portrait.

This was recorded during the late Fall, early Winter months of 2024.

It is filmed in 4K natively, just as Sunflowers was.

There is a relatively clear message in this piece about existentialism, nihilism, self-flagellation, foreboding self-doom, and pragmatism.

My only opinion besides AMAZING is “YOU EDGED US AGAIN?!?!?! DAMNIT REN!!!”

Ren has not revealed the official release date for the next Part of Vincent’s Tale or Richard’s Tale. We expect to be in 2 weeks, if following a similar schedule to the last few pieces with more Instagram Stories likely related to Vincent OR Richard coming in-between.

As always, much peace and love to you, darling. ^^ <3

There were 244 deaths by knife/sharp implement in the UK in 2023, that's the last year I can get figures for. That in a population of 68.49 million (for 2023). Just as with gun crime in America (how do you guys step out of your house without being attacked) knife crime in the UK is sensationalised. The reality is not as bad as the media stories and misinformation sites make out, in both our countries. That aside, it still exists and we get the media hysteria as much as anyone. It's like Ren is saying on this art piece, if we can misdirect the masses with misinformation and a new show on Netflix then the elite are saved from revolution. It works in the UK, in Europe and in the USA. As long as we let them control us, we let them live the life they want at the expense of our own. Politics, and on a Sunday! Sorry about that. Great reaction btw. Peace as always from the UK.

Couple of things: the guy with the guitar in the beginning was the Vincent in the Prologue-Sunflowers.. (some think the ‘two Vincents are one and the same’); the ‘copper’ Richard is who killed Screech.. and in the story has been on leave bc he couldn’t cope with having killed a 14 yr old boy. Ren’s been working on this for years… genius!! Great reaction, thank-you for sharing!

13:20 NYC’s knife crime is three times higher than London. If that’s surprising it’s because in the US gun crime grabs all the headlines.

I never understood it when Americans, talking about knife crime in the UK say, “it’s because they don’t have guns to defend themselves”, as if that’s a solution. If everyone had guns instead of knives, the death rate would be 10 x higher, like it is in the US.

The vocals on the 3rd act good lord that hit my soul. Ren is a pure fuckin artist

Both men are Vincent, alter egos i think. Ren is dark Vincent who has cracked and gone rogue.

A guy from the world champion in murder cases (mostly involving firearms) said, "You guys have a knife problem over there." 🤭

This version is enraged by the lies he's lived by, working his futile "9 to 5".
He's alone and upset at something that he can't affect, so he takes his rage to the streets...
and ends up going too far, on someone that he really has no beef with.

For the lyrics- Ren's team has been great about having the captions match now so it's easier to read the lyrics and see the visuals which is pivotal.

There were some Van Gogh painting homages in the video as well.  At least that I could tell.  Perhaps a stretch.
-The Night Cafe:  The pub Ren is at in the prologue (playing pool) and the start of this one.
-Terrace At Night: When Ren is outside the pub.
-Self Portrait: the guy he steals the guitar from (from the Sunflowers prologue) is a doppelganger.
-Starry Night: The lights in the alley way
-Lamp Post: The single lamp post before the cut/transition to the finale of the piece.

Knowing Ren- there's probably more...

When does a knife become dangerous? A knife is always dangerous. That's why you learn to use one properly. In this case, Vincent was armed only with a stolen guitar. But, thanks to littering there was a bottle lying about that he could break and weaponize. (I did like the way they did it without an actual bottle, just sound effects) Be sure to catch up with the shorts Ren has been dropping on Instagram (and on Ren Makes Stuff) they really give a great deal of background.

❤❤ - if anyone else wrote the end movement they would think they had produced a remarkable song and in this it is just one third of what Ren produced

On knives themselves, its against the law to be carrying a blade over a certain length (I think it's 3 inches) in public in the UK and especially concealed.

Good news!  Ren's team has put correct lyrics in the captions of his videos, including new drops like this.  So you can read the lyrics and see the video together!

Love when you show ren love 💕

Ren is the true GOAT!!!❤️❤️❤️
