Insane amount of work an knowledge needed to undertake this job.

He says he wasn't very good at school but surely a whizz at jigsaw puzzles, lego and meccano. Nothing but respect 🙏

As a retired mechanic,I'm 70 now and after finding your channel I thought you were amazing working on that Porsche. Your skill and presentation was first class and top marks to your camera man 👍I have subscribed so I can follow your fantastic content .many thanks .JP northants

From a mechanic of 45 years let me say you are very impressive confident and fun to watch

That was the most mesmerizing 45 minutes I've had on the TV for a very long time, you sir are a master technician. 👌👍

I think the tensioner failed first, and thats what ate the teeth of the cam gears. In these cases, where the tensioner is bolted in from the outside, it might worth a try to replace only the tensioner at first. For example, on Mercedes OM642 engines (3 liter V6 CDI) the timing chain rarely stretches, but the tensioner is likely to fail. But you can replace it without taking apart anything.

And that folks, is why I'm motorcycle mechanic not a car mechanic!!!!!! How the hell you remember how everything goes back together or comes apart in the first place!!!!!!  Fair play to you Ben. As a matter of interest, how long did the job take from start to finish??

Ben you are a natural on camera !!!
The sky is the limit for you mate !
I will be watching your channel growing, organically !

Fair play, as previous comments, shows how much time and labour goes into fixing components. Even to get to the area needed; amount of the engine that had to be removed. Good job!

I like these slow video. Makes a change from people cutting out most of the work

Proper mechanic! Top notch work

1st crank , hiding behind a cushion , squinting with one eye  shut !

Great work Ben, the repair and your presentation were great to watch

Ended up being a fairly big job, great work

Great audio - really clear.

An astounding amount of time and knowledge required to change a timing belt on these things. Blimey moses.
Superb technician and video (wonderful editing)

You tackled this big job calmly and systematically.  Well done.  Bit surprised that you did not change all the chain drive sprocket units.  If the one original unit has wear on the teeth, that will accelerate wear of the chain and then the other sprockets.

Thanks a lot for this video, dude! I just had to undergo the exact same job on my 2017 Macan GTS. It was an absolute pain in the a**, but with the help of your video I managed to get it done with a friend of mine! The car now runs as smooth as never before.

Great to see your latest video.

Fascinated by what you do and the calm way you go about it.

Hopefully the next video won’t be 3 months away🤞
