Dan, Don't try to line up the brass push pins controlled by the foot pedal. Instead line up the black push bar on the mount to the push bar receivers on the plow. Even if you just get one lined up and the other is a little off, no big deal. After lining up the push bar and receivers, pull the foot pedal back to engage the brass pins and with a little slack in you chain, push the light bar. The brass pins should both pop into place. I struggled a lot when trying to line up the brass pins too, nearly impossible. Come to find out, I was lining up the wrong things. Even on the videos show how to mount the MD's they don't even mention the push bar for some reason. I had my installer give me a lesson for over an hour and I can now mount and dismount in under 5 mins each. Paul
I've had a HD75 for 11 years and I like it. I had problems initially because of incompatable orings in the lift ram, which contaminated my whole hydraulic system. Buyers replaced the ram for me and paid shipping to Alaska, so great customer service. If they haven't changed the material on on your plastic deflector, it won;t last long. The first time I ran into a snow bank at 28F it snapped off.
It’s a great plow, the plow lifts and angles fast! Instead of a leveling kit, I use (2) 50lbs dumbbells, one on each side in the bed close to the tire wells. It helps raise the front end up a bit for clearance and you’ll get better traction for driving. Super easy to mount if your level, I always count the turns on my plow jack and that makes the biggest difference in whether it mounts easy or not, make sure to push plow frame up and back towards truck and it should kick lock right in. Make sure to keep those mounting parts greased up! I’ve had a good 10 plus years run with the first generation MD75, very happy with it!
Nice video! I have a 2012 silverado z71 4x4 with the 5.3 I also have 17" rims. I want to upgrade my rim tire package. Could you tell me what wheel package you have including size? I'm use to race cars not trucks lol. Noob here 🤣🤣
How did you find it back dragging? all All my clients are residential. I'm in the market for a half ton plow. Seems these half ton plows aren't the best for it. I know boss has a down pressure and back blade kit. I believe Meyer also has a back blade option.
SnowdogMD75 is a great plow have it mounted on my 04 suburban, only thing I find I don't like it's a little lite to back blade....other then that mines 4yrs old nvr had a problem
