Not shown: the Pinkham’s amazing ladder collection

I've got a couple of those! However, suddenly I'm not yearning for more garden space: Yesterday Mother Nature toggled the switch from Spring to Summer, slammed the humidity slider hard to the right, cranked the temperature knob, and fully opened all the annoying insect containers. I may start dreaming of Fall colors by Friday...

This video REALLY hits a sweet spot! I have only a tiny
amount of land to plant in
yet no shortage of
desire to accumulate,
get to hang out with,
glorious plants.

Thank you to the PINKHAMS,
and to Jim & Steph! for
showing it & explaining
how it's been done:
SUPER HELPFUL.
What a beautiful garden.

Really interesting to see how certain trees can be pollarded and shaped. Thank you!

Staking is something that I wish that I had in my gardening toolbox- but it is hard to go over a foot deep in my soil without hitting a chunk of sandstone either great or small. Still, the work and thoughtfulness that went into this landscape is something to aspire to.

Oh my goodness I had NO IDEA that an Orange Rocket Barberry would get that GINORMOUS!

I’m curious how the tall metal stakes re installed, and at what point during the growth of the plant?

Thank you Jim and Stephany. 🌸💚🙃

What about root competition? I have tried to plant under limbed up trees and shrubs and am rarely successful

I enjoy doing this with the heavy weeping type Japanese maple varieties(like Ryusen). Thanks for sharing.

That garden doesn’t look like the South, that looks like it could be much farther north and west

This is what we are trying to do in our .33 lot....makes for interesting looking shrubs/trees😊

Specifically, how do they get a 15 feet pipe in the ground. That would be a challenge. I saw a beautiful weeping Katsura at Garden at Mill Fleur and she had a bench under there. Perfect tree to have for grandchildren, creating the secret garden play area.
