my first ship was the aurora mk1 mr, glad to see it got a upgrade

good vid as always

@Tharurtius 6 months ago

Glad the Aurora MK2 still has a bed. Using the bed as makeshift storage is most important part of the ship imo.

I honestly love the MKII - have the avenger as starter... but it was melted :)

@Marcherlord2100 6 months ago

Its nice that the Titan is not the only rounded starter now.,it was always my favorite run around ship and combat starter.

@Eric-p6q-p4o 6 months ago

My startership was the avenger titan. From my experience that ship had no trouble putting down anyting smaller than a constellation, especially when you get 2 s3 attrition repeaters for it. I would still recommend it over the aurora 2.

My starter was a Pisces. I love it because it's a great all rounder and let's you get a taste of all the different things the game has to offer. The Aurora MK2 is very tempting though, it would be great to try it out!
Liked, hyped and subscribed for more! Thanks :)

the mk2 reminds me so much of the Ornithopers from Dune for some reason, so i was predestined to love it

News to SC, thanks for the info to help decide.

My first game package (in 2015) was the Aurora MR and I really liked it, although I upgraded it a few days later to an Aurora LN (because the MR didn't have enough weapon and missile power for bounties).
I kept the ship for almost 5 years ... and then I upgraded it to a Cutlass Black (and soon other ships followed). With the Aurora Mk II looking really awesome, I might consider buying one ... just to continue my "lost Aurora tradition" ;-)

Thanks for the video! I definitely think it's one of the best ships to start the game with, only surpassed by the Avenger Titan if you want to focus a bit more on combat from the beginning. My favorite ship is the Golem OX. When it came out, I didn't think I'd like it so much, but I tried it and fell in love. I enjoy doing hauling missions, and this little ship is perfect for missions with a light payload. It's very comfortable to pilot and practically invisible if you equip it with the right components.

The Titan was the standard for starter ship just as its the modular ship without the modules. So I would choose the MK2 as it currently has a modular way of changing instead of the whole ship, and with the possibility of more modules coming making it what the Titan should have been, unless they update the Titan but that a big ask probably.

@mattcoyle2223 5 months ago

I started with the Titan originally, and it has really stood the test of time with its overall practicality as a starter. I have to say though, the Aurora mk.II is a great looking machine, and has all the new features and cool factor with the folding wings and modular components. I liked the combat test you chose to compare the two ships; it really showed just how limited it is in combat and well... size matters.

Aurora Mk2 Best Starter !!
I love your Setup, GG bro

My first love is the Titan - When the mk II dropped I was tempted by the mk II's great looks. What stopped me though is speed. With the Titan you're in control of the engagement being so much faster than most ships. You can choose to fight or flee and your adversaries just have to deal with your decision. The mk II isn't fast enough so it will mostly be forced into fights it doesn't want. That being said the mk II is a very versatile ship and using stealth components your likely able to hide from most ships. So it all comes down to preference.
I'd love an Avenger mk II but CIG has to get a design theme for Aegis still which I'm certain they are working on.
Great vid - really enjoyed it. Very informative as well. Thanks for your hard work
