Indian Wedding Race follows the trials and tribulations of two young Indian Australians in their search for love. Both must balance the wishes of their traditional Indian parents with their own desire for a love-marriage but if they don’t get married by 30 they fear they will be seen as damaged goods and bring shame to their families. So each embarks on a frantic journey through the world of online dating, astrologers, matchmakers, and arranged marriages.

Skin tone: fair, even though he’s dark. Profession: Medical doctor, even though he just works in a bank. Welcome to online dating, where people require you to have what they don’t, and you to be what they’re not.
And then they are surprised when they get rejected.😂

It’s really frustrating when desi men want a “progressive, slim, fair” girl. Especially in arranged marriage. Tarun wants someone progressive but his actions don’t seem progressive at all seeing that he wants someone in the medical profession, educated so he can say his wife is smart and beautiful. On the other hand dalvinder is actually progressive where she doesn’t mind the religion of the guy or if he’s wealthy, she just wants a good man.

Her dad was so invested in getting her married and then once she got married his sadness made me sad! I'd like to see an update on these people and where they are now 7 years down the road.

I wish we in the black and brown communities could break away from thinking “fair skin” is better. Sorry for that guy but selecting that made me sad for him.

I wish my father was as wonderful and loving as Gill is. Men, if you have a daughter it is VITAL that she knows she is loved no matter what.

She chose a man like her father, kind, nice and patient. Love the family.

"Full their house with love. Full their house with laughter. " Such profound, sage advice from a father to his newly married daughter. Beautiful.

Four minutes in and I just think Delvinda’s family is adorable. Her dad is awesome. Really, she is blessed!

She is very lucky to have such a great dad😊

The girl had no check-list for a partner and found love. The guy had a laundry list of requirements and remained single. What is the lesson here?

Her father got straight to business.

"What is your job?"

Lol

Awee, papa! The love in his eyes. Such a loving father. He's humorous, caring, only wants the best.

I was so invested in this documentary! When her father cried, I cried! When she cried, I cried! What a lovely ending for her ☺️

For anyone looking for an update on Tarun: he was married to Manisha Saraf in 2017. He had some goofy requirements for a wife but nevertheless I'm happy to see he found his true love!
