Football for World PEACE... (The Netherlands here) ... Me and my friends (+/-50) have visited every World Cup sinds Argentina 1978...... and we also did these last few weeks in Canada, Mexico and the US... I do hope that certainly the people in the US could witness that people from Egypt. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Congo or any nation for that matter can all celebrate together..We all live together on a very small blue marble, and the US does not even make up a few % of that.... Since our US friends do not travell a lot abroad, you can understand that we didn't skip this tournament... For me it has been the second time I've visited the 'World's" in the US, I've been there in 1994 too...
We did again meet so many great people... Americans with all kind of questions... Most people in the US are so super kind, Maybe a little bit ignorant, or if I may say so, uneducated in the general sense... But above all super friendly and nice.
(Now I readily admit that American culture in some regions of your magnificent country also requires a bit more explanation for me. But then again, your magnificent country is about the same size as the entire continent of Europe.... And we Europeans also have so many differences... A hundred miles/kilometers in one direction or the other in terms of birth can just change your whole life....)
Sorry, I'm rambling... hehehe :))
There is a future for all of us, as long as you yourself continue to dare to let others into your life.... Faith, Culture, Skin color, or nationality, what does it matter ? I hope we were able to share that (Our Love, and cultural baggage) in New York, Monterey, Kansas City, Montreal, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and all those other beautiful locations.....
I do not believe in gods.. But I do believe in sharing love, supporting people who are having a harder time, and ALWAYS respecting others...
And over the past five or six weeks, especially in the United States of America, I have encountered many people who are afraid or are living in poverty... (Relatively speaking, these good people have a lot of money..... But meanwhile, they are too poor to go to the doctor or dentist, because otherwise they will end up deeply in debt..) ...
Such conversations hurt me... Simply because I love my fellow man, regardless of nationality.... I was not in Sudan... I was not in Bangladesh.. No, I was in the United States of America...
It hurt me, friends, to see your country in this state... It had obviously been a while since 1994.... But perhaps it is time to finally stop pumping all the money into defense for nothing to invest in education and infrastructure...
Just thinking out loud of course :goodvibes::elbowcough:
German here. The World Cup is about the world coming together and celebrating the sport and the fans. Football nations of course want their team to win but they do not lose interest in the tournament the moment their team loses. It is absolutely normal for Europeans to support the Nigerian team for example, the so called underdog teams who do well will be supported by the whole football community no matter what. It is mostly the American " we are the best at everything and if we don't we will not participate anymore" attitude that ruins the spirit... think about it..
"We know nothing, but believe that if we say it loudly enough and often enough, that it's going to sound like a proper analysis." America in a nutshell.
To us Europeans we grow up with football, it's like a religion. It's just not only a matter of passion, but a matter of identity and brotherhood. Greetings from Belgium.
I hate those AI generated inbaked "subtitles", the man is called Haaland, Erling Braut Haaland. Not "Holland", that is a part of the Netherlands (no Holland is not a country, it is PART of a country) Also, Americans seem to confuse people enjoying themselves because they are at a once in a lifetime event (for most people anyways) with "Oh, they actually love America". No, they are partying for their team (coincidentally) in blue cities where they don't have to fear the worst of the American Regime. Don't mistake holiday fun for admiration
I don't think the world has fallen in love with America or Americans, they've come for a holiday and to watch the world cup, when it's over you'll be exactly where you were at the beginning
10:28 Dude why do you clame the world cup spirit to "fans fell in love with america"? Typical American behavior 🙄 WE the fans showed you what patriotism is, what passion and real fandom is, what loyalty and fun is and being free. That wasn't America! The fans set all that free
What you describe with the new American soccer "experts" is exactly what the whole continent of Europe has to deal with since decades. That's totally human and obviously part of the game😉
The real test will be to see how many Americans travel to support their team at the next World Cup….You’ve seen how other countries fans do it now. Will you do the same.
Here in England we have four professional leagues and hundreds of non professional leagues. Football is MASSIVE in Europe and we LOVE it with a passion.
To be fair, t.v. commentators in the US have been doing the exact same thing for two decades. It just worked out for them, because 90% of their audience didn't know enough to understand they barely know anything.
7 Lessons Americans Learned From Hosting the World Cup 🇺🇸⚽
