I’m from Parrish and finally got out of Florida earlier this year. It used to be really nice, but now it’s just so crowded, the people are angry, it’s overpriced, and 301 is a nightmare now. Was feeling homesick, but went down for Thanksgiving and was reminded why I started to hate my hometown so much.
I'm building a new house here. Leaving crowded overtaxed overpriced depressing NJ. Parrish is spread out not crowded. Just beautiful farm land and country feel. Food desert? As he rattled off 50 restaurants. Arbys and Wendy's are not the same. There's a Publix every 2 miles. Infrastructure is good in Parrish. Traffic is low compared to NJ. Great roads and constant road construction which is nice.
They're putting a Trader Joe's on 301 where you drove by that land being cleared with the blue tarp. And a few mom-pop restaurants (Italian) opened in North River Ranch, so some good improvements in that way. There's authentic Mexican/Spanish food on the corner of 301/62. Wawa coming on the corner on of Ft Hamer and 301. C&K BBQ very good too!
Parrish is over crowded. Traffic on I75 is backed up at peak times. Accidents every day. Only Publix stores that are over priced. Lakewood Ranch started this migration of people to this area. Junk food places have opened up.
