We had enough… so we packed up our life in Frisco, Texas and moved to Querétaro, Mexico. And instead of flying, we loaded everything we could into our SUV and drove all the way there.
In this video, we're taking you along for the journey from Frisco, TX to Querétaro, Mexico — from the chaos of packing up and leaving Texas to crossing the U.S.–Mexico border at the Colombia Solidarity International Bridge, driving the highways of northern and central Mexico, spending the night in Saltillo, and finally arriving at our new home in Querétaro.
This wasn't a vacation or another Mexico road trip where we'd be heading back to the United States a week later. This time, Mexico was home.
Along the way, you'll see what it was actually like driving our U.S.-plated vehicle through Mexico, navigating Mexican toll roads, stopping along the highway, crossing through the mountains around Monterrey and Saltillo, and making the long drive south toward Querétaro.
More importantly, this is the beginning of a completely new chapter for our family — and for this channel.
Over the coming months, we'll be sharing what living in Querétaro as an American family is really like: the cost of living in Mexico, restaurants and hotels, everyday life, exploring Querétaro and other parts of Mexico, family experiences, travel, and whether moving from the United States to Mexico ultimately turns out to be everything we hoped it would be.
If you've ever thought about moving to Mexico, retiring in Mexico, living in Querétaro, or driving from the United States to Mexico, subscribe and follow along. We're just getting started.
