The camcorders you rated the most highly are not necessarily an adviseable purchase. The drawback with the AX53 is the autofocus, which is slow. You focus on something such as a church spire, and it goes out of focus, and you can't correct this! Tha AX43 and AX33 have similar problems. These camcorders are also too heavy to carry around!  The Panasonic VX980/981 is not as heavy, but it has a lot of issues with the menu system, such as you can't turn the bleep off! The HDWriter app for transferring Panasonic footage to the computer doesn't work under Windows 11. However, the Sony PlayMemories app (now discontinued) does work under Windows 11. None of these cameras are recognized by recent Macs when you plug them in. In your next review, consider: how easy is it to transfer footage to the computer? Thanks for uploading.
