The Nintendo 3DS is such a special console, with a fantastic library of games that are still worth playing and talking about today. So I put together my list of the top 25 best games on this console! Despite being an under powered system compared to today's offerings, I feel like a lot of these games have way more heart and soul to them. (It's probably just nostalgia though.)

Why does my man sound like he's huddled in the corner trying not to wake everyone in the house while recording this video lol

To be honest, it's kind of painfully nostalgic for me to see stuff about the DS/3DS era because it really was a perfect era for Nintendo games on those consoles. The Switch had some great stuff but I don't think I'll feel remotely as sad about leaving it behind as I did with the older Nintendo handhelds.

The 3DS was my dream system: a handheld capable of running GameCube caliber games. It delivered and then some. 3D Mario, Smash Bros, Luigi’s Mansion sequel, plus all the other staple handheld series’ like Mario & Luigi and Pokémon that used to not get mainline entries on home consoles. The Switch may have completed the transition, but the 3DS feels like it was the first step in achieving the hybrid model in a way, resulting in one of the best libraries of any Nintendo system.

Neither the 3DS nor the PS Vita get enough credit for how much they closed the gap between home console and handheld gaming.

Thanks for making the video. I'm still playing Both my 3ds XLS. And DSI XL. I still play my Wii U also. They are all old friends I will hang out with till I pass. I'm 53 and my generation appreciates Old school handhelds and this style of graphic design.

The 3ds really has a fire line up of games

i truly believe Planet Robobot is not only one of the best 2D platformers, but one of the best Nintendo games period. One of the very few I can say was basically flawless start to finish. I know everyone is exhausted of rereleases but I'd really love an HD (or 4K now?) remaster of this one because it feels like it went pretty overlooked by a lot due to releasing quite late in the 3DS lifespan. Being bundled alongside Triple Deluxe would be extra awesome. Very nice video btw, especially loved the music picks!

The 3DS is probably my favorite gaming system. I still play on the same one I got on Christmas the year it released. I come back to play nintendogs, Tomodachi Life, and Fantasy Life quite often. I like to play the same saves revisiting what I love. For many years I also would play the Pokemon-Amie feature in Pokemon X (which is my favorite Pokemon game) due to how it brought the pokemon to life. There are so many great games to be played on it and it is the perfect handheld device to give any new or old gamer.

Dude, that Reggie quote there at the end was so perfect! I cracked up! I will always be a huge fan of the 3DS, and it’s definitely a top 3 Nintendo console for me!

Honestly, I’m happy to see the only two 3ds games I currently have being in this list, Pokémon sun, and the one I just got today to try and experience monster hunter for the first time, and to see that one ranked at number one has me so frickin hyped.

I have mansion 2 on switch but… it’s fun to replay it again on another console that I’m taking to place to vacation to just gaming at home thanks for the ideas

To me, the 3DS is still the tech of the future. It still feels out of this world with the graphics. It feels like something from the future is really in my hands. It's mind blowing to think that something with graphics on par with the wii doesn't need a tv and can fit in my pocket. The games alwys feel "otherworldly". I hope that this wonder and whimsy never leaves me.

Fantasy Life! Legitimately a top 10 game for me, full stop. Lovely game. Radiant Historia and 7th Dragon code VFD are the only two I would add here, but can't really argue with any of your picks
