I have a Stoeger 20 gauge double that groups very well also. It now wears a bead front and V rear. I love that gun.

Strange to comment on a 7 year old post, but back when I lived in Kodiak I got badly mauled by a brown bear that had to be shot off of me by a friend I was deer hunting with. In the summer I began carrying a Baikal coach gun (12 gauge) because it fit neatly in my army alice pack with the stock hanging out over my right shoulder for a quick draw. Hunting blacktails in the fall I had a hunting rifle, but in summer when fishing or hiking I had that pack with gear anyway, and that "poor man's double" fit neatly. I didn't put sights on it because at the ranges you need defense from those bears it's a point and shoot affair.  There is one brown bear per square mile on Kodiak and so any time you're out there you will likely see a bear. 99% of the time those summer encounters are benign because the bears are fat and happy feeding on salmon, but it felt good to have that much power in my hands while I backed away.  I only used that double gun one time when a surprise encounter had a youngish bear make a half-hearted false charge at me from 20 yards or so. I fired the right barrel into the mud at his feet and he skedaddled one way and I skedaddled the other, keeping that left barrel in reserve.

Yeah it is a Great double rifle - double 20, I have the first one and I will always have it, very special gun to me! and  great video review.

Thank you for the video, would it be possible for you to make another video with a closeup of the sights that you added? thank you

Good idea. I want to try it 👍

I wonder of either EAA , Bakail or Spartan have a .410 Double  where  Foster Style Slugs could be shot from

Well Baikal actually make cheap Doubles, one made in 30 -06 and one in 45/70, my 45/70 shoots quite well and has adjustable barrels

In the book " Green Hills of Africa", Hemingway uses a bolt action 30/06, which he swore by, and not a double rifle.

Cool

I just bought a 20ga Bakail side by side with the hope of making some kind of double rifle out of it. I did find some chamber adapter for 30-30 and 30-40 krag. I'd love to see a review on those because I am thinking of getting a couple of .22 hornet barrels to make cool small game gun. Also, you should try making wax slugs out of bird shot shells and see if they group. Slugs can get pricey and I've had success with wax slugs out of single shots and pumps

hi! thanks for your video, question! wich sigths did you install? brand and model? im trying to find something to install in a 16 gaude side by side but i cant find a thing.. thinking about making them

Have you had any experience with Stoeger coach guns in 20 gauge? I was going to try to make a PMD with one

When you experiment with a double barrel are you shooting both barrels at the same time to check their point of aim or one barrel at a time?
Also have you found barrel length to be a factor?

What’s with the awkward view!?
