I was 4 when I got into wrestling in 97, hbk was my favorite. So I idolized him even though I didn't follow storylines or anything like that. I mostly begged for in your house vhs tapes and watched all the matches ignoring all the storytelling as a little kid would. So when he came back, it was shortly after I'd really started following Raw and Smackdown weekly and learning to appreciate all of the show and not just the wrestling and how it made the matches even better when done right. That era of 02-08 or so is genuinely some of my most cherished memories of a difficult childhood. I dont watch anymore, the pg era ruined it for me as one of the generation that started watching as little boys during the attitude and ruthless aggression eras but I hear they may be trying to end the pg era with the switch to netflix. Maybe that will help creative develop some actually iconic characters and storylines again.

This 4 year stretch with the 3 of them was fucking immense. Shawn was absolutely incredible through this WM26 buildup though, more than usual. His last hoorah and he was phenomenal. When he got that Sweet Chin Music on Taker on the ramp shouting “you’re done!” jumping around maniacally. 🤌
