I’m having my mastectomy in a week.  Seeing how well you did after your surgery has made me feel less afraid of what to expect after surgery.  I’m old enough to be your mom, but I’m hoping to do half as well as you did! Thanks for the video.

I had a lumpectomy for Invasive Lobular Carcinoma on March 18th 2025. Still recovering almost a week later. You mentioned being nauseous and I've had that off and on. Thank you for the video. Marigga, My daughter had the same condition about 5 years ago. She too also choose to have a double mastectomy, she had a wonderful surgeon and plastic surgeon. She teaches 10 grade and did wonderfully well. I am so very proud of her as I’m sure your Mother as well. I hope you find out that the treatment want be bad. I admire your courage and keep good thought and know the Lord has this all taken care of. Tell your Husband that he is a real man. He doesn’t run from responsibility, he runs toward it. Good luck…

I don’t know if you’ll see this- but your video brought me so much comfort! My bilateral mastectomy with expanders is scheduled for July 09th, 2026. I’m filled with anxiety. It’s just me and daughter (she’s 20, but still!) and I have to do whatever it takes to stay on this earth. Sounds dramatic, but I need to be here! 🙏🏼

Thank you for sharing your journey. I was just diagnosed this week with IDC AND DCIS and waiting on genetics and breast MRI before surgery. Right now I’m leaning towards a double and appreciate the info you provided, especially about the chest pressure. I’m so so scared but watching this helped. Thank you pink sister.

Im 3 weeks post Double Mastectomy. Im 62. 14 months ago I had a partial mastectomy for Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and Ductal Carcinoma in Situ. The partial breast they took weighed over 1kg.

This was followed by Radiation. Unfortunately for me I developed Fat necrosis with the Radiation. Also at the 10month mammogram post cancer, I had 3 calcifications in the milk ducts that required an invasive  biopsy. So because I lived with an almost solid remaining breast for 12 months and did not want to go through the biopsies again, I decided to have it taken away to the chest wall and because I was taking the remaining left breast, I opted to take my right breast also.

Week 3 is a lot better, especially with compression bras night and day. I have had a seroma developing between where my breasts were, hence the Breast Care Nurses want me to keep the compression going.

My drains were in for 10L & 14R days before a little infection started to develop and the surgeon wanted it out. That was wonderful 😍

The nerves are evident in my chest and under both arms everyday but because I had done lymphodema massage and scar massage and breast physio the first time for about the last 5 months it has definitely helped with my recovery.

My Pathology came back cancer free 🎉. My fat necrosis was 18.5cm across with seroma as well.

In total I have lost just over 5kg in breasts. It has reduced the way I feel in my back and on my neck.

I have 4 darling Grandsons ( 5, 4, 2, 4 months) , a husband, Son, Daughter in law,  Daughter and Son in law who love me uncondtionally and just want to help me feel better.

Also friends have been there everyday checking up on me. I feel so lucky and grateful.

I am very independent, so accepting help from anyone is hard for me. The downside of this attitude Ive been told is Seroma by my Breast Care Home Nurses. So be careful.

I am looking forward to retirement later this year and hope to travel Australia with my Hubby after our 44years in Business. ❤️🇦🇺🦘
