Looks like a curler used for perms. My mother had that looked very similar. They can date back to the late 1930s. The hole in the middle was letting the solution soak through. They had a cord that attached to each end. They came in different sizes.
Inecto was also a brand of hair color.

The “unicorn “ horn could be a Victorian or Edwardian single flower bud vase. They were set in holders, sometimes singularly or in groups.

I can't help but think of the irony of watching you dig a tip i(n England while I'm in the USA) upcycling bottles that were tossed as trash. Your upcycling projects are lovely and show such creativity and imagination. If the people that threw away those things could see this, wouldn't they be shaking their heads in amazement. We live in such a disposable world, it's nice to see this. Thank you for sharing!

It was hilarious listening to someone attempt to discern what the purpouse could be for what was a broken perm curler. It must be what people will sound like hundreds of years from now digging up our trash.

Favorite part of this video was the sleepy sound of the cuckoo.

As a hairdresser of over 45 years I can definitely confirm that is a perm curler used with leads that were attached to a heater element for hot permanent waving hair ! There used to be a machine in the college I trained at in a glass cabinet and it looked like a torture instrument ! Also " Inecto" was a company that made hair tonics and colours etc..

Glass cones were sometimes used as flower holders in posh cars, up to circa 1930. They fitted into a circular mounting.

The formula of Sloane's Liniment even makes sense, medically. No snake oil, for once. 👏

9:12 INTO THE VIDEO, I think that crooked bottle is the most awesome bottle I have ever seen.

I can't imagine how hard it was to live there way back when these bottles were being made.

Real social history. I used to dig old dumps back in the 50s - I thought there were none left, so well found!!

I think a rain chain made with broken bottle necks would be beautiful. I love you videos and your crafting.

I really enjoy the advertisements you show for the bottles etc. They really bring us back in history. Thanks! I love the swan repair. Your station is one of my favorites.
