hi everyone who subscribed after my last video, unfortunately im actually a book channel and not a math channel. hope you enjoy  nonetheless :)

This was lovely. I feel like, language 'fails to capture objective reality' because that's not it's purpose. Instead I think language exists to share our inner world. And it works for that purpose exactly because I can only interpret your words as a new combination of my own memories.

I see this in my subscribed feed.
I ask myself who is this and why I am subscribed to them.
I watch the video.
I understand why I did subscribe to this channel

Dude, thank you so much for this. I just finished reading Invisible Cities and was blown away, and very eager to see the plethora of literary analysis video essays on it, and then found… nothing. Except this, which makes up for it because it’s the best one I could have found.

I was reading all the Kublai/Marco sections as deconstruction of the ways we interpret meaning from our surroundings, the way the Cities and Signs chapters do.

But this interpretation of it as metaphor for reading/interpreting words themselves is so good and makes so much sense and blew my mind.

You’re a genius. Immediate subscribe.

i'm studying this book in a uni module about the relationship between philosophy and literature and could not have found a better video. really reframed feeling like i don't 'get' a text. iris murdoch said that literature aims to 'mystify'; we are most compelled and enchanted by that ineffable, between-the-lines meaning that precedes limitation and comprehensive transparency.
underrated as hell, i would adore more stuff like this

Why the HELL doesn’t this have more views/comments. This video goes hard. You got a follow from me!

I read 'if on a winters night a traveller' by the same guy and quite enjoyed it, maybe its time I finally pick up invisible cities 👀

This is one of my favorite novels ever, alongside Duluth, A Roadside Picnic, and Blood Meridian. It's incredible how much Calvino is able to do and capture with so few words, truly a masterclass of setting and storytelling.

Amazing Video! Invisible Cities is my absolute favorite novel and I was obsessed with Italo Calvino for a whole year because of it. I'm so glad I found this awesome channel and also happens to have a video about my favorite novel.

Man this really got me out of my mindless consumption loop, amazing video, I want to read this book!

Bro, where did you go just come back 😭

i love the pacing of your videos
when you read that city at the end, the pause before showing us the city you read from the book was everything

Other than in cases of legal matter, I usually find it more beneficial to be accurate than necessarily precise.

Idk how the algorithm knew I was reading this book but I’m glad it gave me this lovely meditative video!

Love the guitar Satie as well

2:39 If one reads this wobbly text under the influence of psychedelics, the wobbly effects of the psychedelic cancel out the wobbliness of the text, producing a net straight text.

im incredibly pleasantly surprised to see that this channel is focused on books, amazing!! the auditory/visual style of the video makes for a super pleasant watch, and the way you provide your interpretations for the concepts presented within the book is great ;> im looking forward to more and will definitely check out your older stuff when ive the time. keep it up!!

Man, such talent. Just binged your whole channel. I hope you give this another shot, soon, or find the time in whatever you are up to to bless us with another one of your takes. I subscribed for sure.

It's an awesome video. I actually find the idea of us not knowing what reading is, very fascinating.

As a writer, it has given me an entirely new perspective to think from and as a reader, it had made me question my life experiences. It was a fun journey with you explaining it.

It has also given me ideas on how I want my work to go, so thanks for that.

I came for the maths, but am staying for the books. Keeo the content coming

great video!
